Ten days ago my daughter got some kind of virus or something that was kinda harsh on her. I did take her to the ER for it because of some alarming vital signs. At that time they said they could tell that the lungs were clear, and it was probably just an upper respiratory tract infection (which pretty much means a cold virus). Anyway her fever finally stopped after about a week, but her rapid, shallow breathing continued, as well as an elevated heart rate. And she developed a very frequent, productive cough, and it sounded really congested, and she still hadn't been herself. So today I took her back to the doctor and from just listening with a stethoscope they could tell that it had developed into pneumonia (and they confirmed that with a chest x-ray and saw that the right lung was infected). The doctor said she needs to be admitted right away so that they can administer antibiotics in the fastest way, which is intravenously, to clear it up fast, and to make sure that it doesn't get even worse and cause other complications.

They expect improvement after two to three days of IV antibiotics. Assuming she does indeed improve then she'll be released and given oral antibiotics at home.

I try to avoid drugs and all that but I know this can become even more serious if it's not treated so I'm just trusting the doctors and trusting God.

Thanks for your prayers.

I started to feel more worried after talking to the doctor just a little while ago. The info I originally posted was somewhat secondhand through my son (who was with my daughter for the x-ray and all that) since I was away and waiting in long queues for the hospital admission and all that. I spoke to the doctor just now directly about the x-rays and she said that it's pneumonia in both lungs: upper and lower on one side, and lower on the other. She actually said it's "severe pneumonia" (that kinda worries me). But she did say that my daughter should be able to go home on Friday (Philippines time), and that the total course of antibiotics will be 7 to 10 days including oral at home. So according to what the doctor says now, it will probably be four full days in the hospital. And this is assuming that the antibiotics and her body do as expected.

There's no real improvement yet from what the doctor can tell, listening with the stethoscope, but it hasn't been a full day and night yet.

Please pray that there's rapid noticeable improvement and complete healing with no permanent damage.

Thanks.

Actually the doctor was positive overall and does expect recovery, but it just got me worried, imagining possibilities, after hearing the diagnosis that was a bit more serious than what I first thought. So anyway I'm hoping and praying for complete recovery and that her whole system will be back to normal without future problems.

Don't trust Dr's, not ever. Dont' say I didn't warn you okay but I'd be very careful admitting her. They might permanently damage her or even kill her. About 350,000 deaths annually in the US alone are from safely taken prescriptions and hospital stays and visits. 3rd leading cause of death in the US behind heart attack and stroke. If you don't believe me then read the book "confessions of a medical heiratic". It's written by a world renoun dr. Dear lord please keep her safe at the hospital and get her well amen.

Thanks Canadian36 actually I'm kinda like you in the sense that I am afraid of doctors, drugs, and hospitals, and even more so in this country. And when our children are sick we usually just let it pass. But there are some potentially deadly things here that we've experienced recently: dengue fever (my son, months ago), and now this pneumonia. For me the hardest part is to know when to trust the doctors and take the drugs and all that. For something serious like this I don't know what else to do but leave it in the hands of the doctors and in the hands of God.

I've heard positive testimonies from people such as Pickles above about similar treatment of the same thing so I hope and pray we'll have the same good results.

Anyway thank you for praying for her safety and healing and full recovery.

Jeremiah 17
14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed;
Save me, and I shall be saved,
For You are my praise.
15 Indeed they say to me,
“Where is the word of the Lord?
Let it come now!”
16 As for me, I have not hurried away from being a shepherd who follows You,

Romans 8
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us[b] with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose

Your daughter and family will be in my prayers.

Listen those drugs at least in my opinion can easily kill. You got to be so careful. I'll try to explain something to you. Drugs, or anything you take in doesn't heal you. Your immune system is what heals you. Your immune system is the ulitmate self protection preservation device. What you need to do is aid that. One way is high doses of vitimine C. If you don't believe me please google this. YOu'll find tons of articles about how something as simple as high doses of vitimaine C can cure a lot of things. Especially something like namonia. Dr's won't tell you that though. What they're job is to do is make money for the hosptial. They do that by perscribing drugs, stays, treatments, operations and tests. Each one makes the hosptial hundreds or even thousands of dollars. They're not your friend. Your an annoying ginny pig to them. They don't care about you. THEY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!! Whatever you do don't admit her. They're job is to keep people sick for as long as possible so they can make more money. Take her home so she can readjust and get back to a normal routine. If things look bad at any point you can always bring her back to the hospital. But if she's stable have her recover at home where they're positive energy and not a bunch of sicko's looking to harm her even more. And do research on any drugs they perscribe. You'll find all kinds of side effects and risks with most of them. and read taht book I mentioned. ok
