Help with decision

Greetings everyone

Just over 2 months ago I fractured my foot, but due to other personal issues at the time, I couldn't get to a hospital. But within the last 2 weeks I've gotten to see my doctor and get an xray. The advice coming from those consultations now is to attend A+E, but the waiting times in this country (Ireland) are unbearable and more akin to third world conditions. My last time in a hospital A+E unit took 15 hours until I was attended to by a doctor and that matter was listed more urgent than the fractured foot I'm writing about here.

Just within the last hour or 2, while praying on this matter, I felt prompted to take communion and as soon as I did, a word came from The Lord; John 5 and in particular verse 5-9. I felt encouraged and hopeful as I read, seeing that those verses were about the lame man Jesus healed at the Bethesda pool, a problem that was more than likely in his feet.
Like I began with, it has been a little over 2 months since the fracture, all swelling is gone, there's minimal pain, itching and a slightly displaced bone. But I believe The Lord answered my prayer by putting John 5.5-9 on my heart. I guess I am not entirely sure and so I felt urged to commit the matter to you, my brothers and sisters, trusting that some outside prayer can help me come to a decision: is the matter still serious enough that a very lengthy hospital wait is necessary or is healing already underway courtesy of my faith and tonight's inspired scriptures?!

A & E - does that mean acute & emergency? As in an emergency room?

"The last time I was in a A&E unit it took 15 hours...." If you were not in an A&E unit would that 15 hours have not passed anyway?

Hi

Yes A+E stands for Accident and Emergency. To answer your question, yeah that 15 hours would've passed anyway if I hadn't been in A+E. Countless people are not there anymore once they're finally called by a nurse and that is simply because the waiting time is far too long and creates a suffering all of its own, so that people just up and leave. That is an injustice, one to peoples physical and mental health and right now that is not being addressed.

I looked up A+E, and it stands for accident and emergency, a term used in hospitals. He should at least get an x-ray to see if it is healing OK on its own, whatever the wait time. Otherwise it could end up being a life time problem or something that needs surgery.

Maybe it's just here in Ireland and the UK we use the term A+E for the Accident and Emergency unit of a hospital?:unsure:


Here's a link to a song; it's a secular song but is entitled A+E!

I am of Irish descent... fifth generation Canadian :D Here we just call it Emergency. A four hour wait is not all that uncommon,
but cases are triaged according to severity. Last time I was in Emergency, I did not wait that long at all.... but it was 4 am LOL.

I think you're right, thanks for your input. There is a consuming mental health problem I need addressed first though - all I have to do is merely think of my foot problem and my mental health symptoms will instantly intrude, as they do with all manner of other casual day to day thoughts.
My foot problem can hang in there a bit longer, I think that's why The Lord put John 5.5-9 on my heart. Just one verse for one physical problem, whereas with my mental health issue He has been speaking psalm after psalm into my heart lately; it's the more urgent of the problems I have.

Canada, wow looks beautiful on tv and Instagram posts! Part of me would really love to visit British Columbia someday:)

Wow a four hour wait here in Ireland would be considered a godsend! Cases are triaged here also, but an urgent case could still mean 15+ hours of waiting. It makes me wonder if the people who's condition is triaged as non-urgent, ask themselves "why bother"?

It's not so beautiful right now with all the smoke from nearby fires.



But generally speaking, yes, beautiful where I am (west coast, mountains, ocean)
and our people are not quite yet as insane as our neighbours to the south :unsure::censored::giggle:

Dear friend, be grateful for what you have and thank God.
‘A few weeks ago i spent 15 hours in ER with my wife and I was grateful for the wait, for the doctors that help all the others suffering and for God placing me in that particular ER.
I was so thankful that I even bought coffee for the nurses.
