I really really really want to quit smoking. I need prayers. It has such a horrid hold on my life. Please pray for me to be able to put this crap down for good. Thank you.

I understand bekah, it is my weakness as well.
I have in faith, given all to Jesus.
I was a 2 1/2 pack a day smoker, now down to less than a pack, and somedays less than 10 ciggs.
Jesus is bringing His help and healing in my life, and I know He will for you as well. :)
Ill be praying daily in Jesus for healing you of this.

Huge hugs and God bless

Let's make it a cord of three strands, not easily broken!
I tend to smoke seasonally...and socially. Not that it makes it okay, because if I can put it down for the winter (I won't smoke in the house, and who's going to sit around in the chill winter just to smoke?? lol) why would I ever pick it up again?!?

Praying for you, Bekah. I admire you and pickles for admitting to something that's so socially unacceptable...your humility is humbling. ♥
I love you both

all three of you are in my prayers. I don't smoke but I have been around smokers all my life and I can see where it is hard to quit. The cravings, weight gain, irritability, that's enough to make you want to start again. My father is 64 yo and has smoked all his life. He has quit for over a year before and started right back. That I have a hard time understanding, but I don't harp at him about it I just continue to pray. I will pray for the three of you as well that God will give you the strength you need to give up the habit. Might I suggest, when you get a craving to smoke say a prayer and read a few scriptures from the Bible see if that helps. It's worth a shot and if anything it'll bring you closer to God, for I am a firm believer you can never be to close to God. praying for you all\. God Bless

I love you girls. I don't know you and I have never met you but I love you.
My heart just totally filled up with that really good feeling you get when someone touches it with kindness and love. It is such a struggle but I feel God convicting me so if he is convicting me I have no doubt that he will help me and with all of the prayers I get from this web site I know it will happen much faster because the power of prayer is sooooo sooooo sooooo beautiful and amazing. It tickles me pink that I have my very own prayer team (((grinz)))
Thank you Pickles and yes I totally understand where you are coming from. Good job on going down to one pack. I am praying God free's you from this to. I asked God last night if he would help me with money and the thought came across that I needed to manage the money that I do have first and prove to him that I can. Giving up ciggs is a big one and I am tired of wasting money on it when I have a grand baby to go meet. We spend about 10 bucks a day on two packs and I'm just tired of burning money for something that does nothing but slowly kill me. Its kinda retarded.
Ellie I love you back and thank you for the compliment. Yeah I feel ya on going outside to smoke in the cold. You are so lucky that your addiction is way less then ours. I will pray you are able to put em down also. I asked God a while ago to help me quit and asked him to take away all the crappy side affects and cravings and he did. I got arrogant and thought i could still have his help and occasionally smoke to. Darn devil tricked me. So I know he will help me again and as many times as I need him to but this time I am wise to the devils tricks and it will work.
Thank you chellebee for the good advice and for your prayers. I agree you can never be to close to God also. I often have the image of me in his arms hidden under his wing next to his heart safe and warm and completely content.
Thank you sound7 for the verse. Blessed Be My Sisters!!!

Well I've never been and will never be a smoker, but I have had a few struggles in life and what freed me was really taking days off(more like retreats) to just forget about everything and only communicate to God through prayer, praise, reading, meditation, etc. It was during these times God taught me to control my thoughts and my body(Okay He never taught me exactly, it just happened). I believe that if we draw closer to God, He will wipe away all struggle. I will be praying for you. God bless

I am just so happy you brought this to light, bekah!
It IS expensive. Here in NY they're ten bucks a pack! When my cousin quit her 2 pack a day habit (26 years ago when she discovered she was pregnant) she put the $$ she spent on cigarrettes each week into an envelope and a year later took a trip to Germany with it! (her mom, my aunt was born there, as was her hubby)

Although I may smoke a pack a week, and only in good weather, and although I may go a day or two without smoking at all....it worries my kiddos. And that should be reason enough!
Amen! God is so good! :)

I pray that your health will be better and you will stop smoking once and for all. My Dad has been smoking for over 50 years and now its affecting his liver and general health but he will not stop. Not everyone has sense . Good Luck.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your support of bekah,
and me as well.
For too often one is shunned for this weakness, instead of encouraged in Jesus.
Only Jesus knows how many nights I have cried before Him.
Seeking healing and freedom from this.
God bless all of you for your prayers for Bekah, and also for me.
Bekah, praying for you and with all here in Jesus ,for all healing and freedom from smoking.

Hugs and God bless
