I'm trying to decided whether or not to take my husband to the hospital. Several days ago he broke down and told me he had been contemplating suicide all day. He collapsed and starting slamming his head into the wall. When I finally got him up, he could not walk on his own. When I got him to bed, he stared at the ceiling all night. Over the last few days his mood has varied from ok to very depressed. This morning he was not communicating. He refused to talk to me, answer my questions, or even look at me. I've called him about a dozen times today and he hasn't answered. I don't know if I should take him to the hospital. I'm concerned about him, but part of my reasoning is selfish. I just want him somewhere where someone else can take care of him. I have to work everyday and we don't have the resources for me to stay at home and help him.

Well, he finally called me. He decided to call me because he was mad that our pastor, someone I confide in regularly, was worried and called him. He said he had decided that he wasn't talking to anyone so he ignored over 20 phone calls. If he doesn't hurt himself, I just might do it for him!

dont get angry at him thats the worse thing you can do you need to make him relax feel comfortable so he has a clear mind explain to him whats he done and suggest seeking help you need to make him agree to it on his own forcing him to go or getting him angry will drive him over the edge
