Yesterday I found out a school I used to work at fired a teacher last week and is looking to replace. First, it takes a lot for a teacher to get fired mid-year, so I'm sure their buzzing around trying to fill this spot quickly and likely looking for someone who can provide a good transition for some kids who were possibly in a bit of schooling crisis.

I worked at this school as a music enrichment teacher several years ago and because I was in school to be a teacher, I found myself handed all the "trouble" kids, and the largest class in the program. I loved that job. Several months ago I applied for a music teacher position. It came down to me and one other teacher. She was chosen for her music degree. I only have a concentration in music. However, at the end of my demo lesson, a dozen groups of kids begged the supervising teachers, who were observing me, to be able to go outside and practice the song. The next day I was told that the whole campus was buzzing with "Kye Kye Kule".

Needless to say, I really want this job. It is for my very favorite grade level. It is at an award winning intercity school. These kids and parents are dedicated to learning or they get licked out. And I know many of the people there.

Praying you will get this job. I used to be an elementary music teacher for 7 years. I didn't have a degree in it either, but it was a huge school district and they hired many that year. I pray this new job is a good fit. You sound like a great teacher.
