I just had knee surgery and am in a lot of pain and can’t sleep at night. I’d appreciate prayer that God would turn this around. Thanks.

I had a knee fracture repaired. I know the pain you are in. Stay with the physical therapy. It's the only way to get through the pain. I'm praying for your relief and that you don't get dependent on pain relief medications. Hang in there. Everything will improve daily.

Praying for you my friend. Make sure to rest and that means also mentally. Don't stress or have any negative thoughts because that can cause more pain, just relax as much as possible.

I would add. Keep the knee in motion. As soon as my sutures healed my Physical Therapist had me working my knee in a warm pool. I also found that in adddition to pain relief, exercising my knee helped me sleep.

Thank you so much for this. I am trying to move often in spite of the pain. How long did it take you until you could sleep through the night.

I will be in prayer for you, Sueheck. I pray for complete and total healing and a lessening of the pain very soon in Jesus' Name. I pray for a restful night of sleep for you tonight and each night while your knee is healing well. Thank you Lord! I will continue to be in prayer.

My fracture was on the end of my femur. It took a while. I was non weight bearing for 6 weeks. I was out of work for almost 6 months. I had to learn not to nap during the day before I finally got all night sleep.

It’s incredibly painful. It takes so much time to heal. 6 months is a long time. I’m less than three weeks out of surgery.

What type of knee surgery did you have? Have you discussed your pain with your surgeon? Are you doing physical therapy?

During the first weeks after my surgery, alternating heat and ice packs helped a lot.

I'm putting you on our weekly prayer list tonight.

Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.

Thank you for putting me on your prayer list. I had a total knee replacement on my left knee and they want me to do my other one but I can't imagine going through this pain again. They have given me heavy pills which I slowly decided to come off of because they were making me sick and dull. Yes I am going to physio once a week and trying to do what they show me during the week. I was very physical before, at the gym, an avid hiker etc but now I don't feel like myself at all. My surgeon said it will get better. And it has a little but I want to be back to my old self. I have so little stamina these days. I'm trying to keep my eyes on Jesus and trust He is healing me completely.

Thanks for the response. My wife had a total knee replacement. Her doctor would not let her come home until she completed rehab. They had her up and walking in less than 24 hours. Her final rehab requirement was to pedal a recumbent bike for 10 minutes. She told the surgeon that she would stay there forever if that was required. Long story short, she come home and had Physical Therapy for about six weeks. Walking really helped her regain her energy. She tossed the pain pills shortly after returning home. When she needed pain relief, she took 2 Tylenol and a walk, then an ice pack if she was still in pain.

We are keeping you on our daily prayer list. Things will improve faster in the next few weeks.
