Praying your friend will find his way out of the dark place he is in.. please show him my depression and suicide threads. They are stickied on page 1 in misc. forum.. I know all too well how he feels.

Praying for your friend. Please urge him to see a doctor and get medical help. Depression is a disease and the sooner you treat it, the easier it is to recover. If he leaves it too long, he will be condemned to a life of medications and depression.
Being a Christian does not exclude anyone from getting depressed. Even the Bible talks about it.
"5 Why am I so depressed?
Why this turmoil within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him,
my Savior and my God." Psalm 42:5
(Some versions translate "depressed" as "downcast" which is a closer translation, but means very little to those of us who are not shepherds!)

Suicidal thoughts are coming from an unclean spirit and your friend needs to know this. Please warn him. There was also this despairing man of the Gadarenes from Mark chapter 5 who cried continually and did self-harm... it was the unclean spirit named Legion bringing the man to this condition and he is Legion because he leads a whole destroying bunch of minions... it can happen to everyone in a bad situation to stumble and despair, but if it persists it is a demon taking hold.
