mom was about 92 makes me about 70 I could not lift her when she fell . Our home did not have room for the equipment needed for that kind of assistance . We did not have the funds or space to create a roll in shower. When they loose bowel control showers are great to have. I called the EMTs a few times i could not move her myself she needed more help then i was capable of giving. Mom weighed over 200 pounds . They were able to give her care i could not, regulate her meds, physical therapy . At the home she was able to use her electric scoter which was too big for our house . Church services came to her. If you both decide to have her stay home will you be able to not blame yourselves if she falls that one time too many? Daddy would say you are between a rock and a hard place.
I do not find either choice pleasant or wrong. May God be with you kids through this trial.
I dont like nursing home i dont think any one does but sometimes they are better. Should you kids place her visit her, visit her.
Yeah, that worries me about her falling, Thank you!

I & my sister has not put her there we were only talking about it yes I would like her to recover my sister was the one that brought it up about the nursing home, I was agreeing with her But I rather my Mom does not go to a nursing home I would like her to get well, I told my sister before she needs to be prayed for finally yesterday My sister said about us praying for her first to see if she recovers, she is not doing good she is not walking well she falls every time she tries she is barely eating & barely drinking anything she hardly talks
I am so sorry for your Mom and you too. I can sympathize.
Of course you want to see your Mom recover soon.
I'm just offering a perspective from someone who has attended to and worked with handicapped in various conditions. Since this is a format that requires brevity, there's no way to share information in the details that might be necessary for proper tone. For right now I will share an educated opinion that nursing home administration would not like, but would have to agree if honest.

1. Nursing homes / assisted living have some very nice people. Some do a good job and whatever they can to help. However, that is not everyone. It isn't even the majority judging from my experience. There normally is nobody who cares for their mother more than their own children.
The quality of care usually reflects that.
Some will work hard all day.long. Even then, they are understaffed. I often have caught staff socializing/ gossiping and watching TV when there were many people who needed attending.

2. The water and nutrition are lacking.
The brain can't heal without the raw materials necessary. You can tell a contracting crew to build a house, but it won't happen without the materials.
Most people are dehydrated. Rest assured that won't change with the nursing home.
Water will not be encouraged frequently.
They will likely milk insurance for all they can and then talk you into hospice "care." Most places that is essentially Dr Jack Kavorkian style assisted suicide, only much worse.

3. All of the institutions have financial incentives to inject the residents with potentially deadly, brain destroying substances. That sounds over the top creepy because it is. I'm not making this up. I can give many examples. None of the vaccines are safe. This applies especially to the seniors who's liver isn't functioning at peak performance.

I wish I could offer a positive outlook with the institutionalized services. It's just not been there in the vast majority of my observations.

The only thing that I would possibly consider would be a service agency that helps with bathing and basic tasks.

I have had family who have miraculously recovered from traumatic brain injuries and chemical induced dementia. Medicine says that is not possible. In addition, God has provided from His own creation, natural substances that feed the brain and help provide the materials I mentioned.

I have no ability to know your situation, but if I were to offer hope, it would be to encourage perhaps your sister to move in with your Mom and you assist while paying bills during the setback. With frequent offering of the necessities like water, nutrition, sunshine when properly hydrated, movement, the Word of God, proper supplementation, love and exceptional advice that supercedes medicine, perhaps she will heal and recover sooner than later. Nobody but the Lord knows. One thing I would encourage is to share my good gospel videos with her. When she understands and calls upon the Lord, she will be saved. I have a list and will gladly post them for you to share for the asking.

We know this doesn't always happen, but I have seen incredible miracles in my family.
One encouragement, when my Dad was young and I was 5, he had a nearly fatal motorcycle accident. His main injury was an unrecoverable traumatic brain injury. The doctor said he was in a vegetative state, would never recover and would require nursing care the rest of his physical life.
Two weeks later, the Great Physician Jesus Christ, with absolutely NO credit to the hospital, decided to heal Dad's brain and sent him home to me.

Take care Dave

hello David 42, make sure you take care of your self to, this important, keep going to church, stay in the word, and eat right, you need to stay, strong, I Know how you feel, I took care of my sister when she was sick, and then I took care of my mother, I ran to God, and he gave me every thing I ask for, to help them, I had to learn how to stand on his word, and believe in him, he wants you to know that he hear's you. when you pray, and just keep trusting in him, he wants to remind you that he loves you, this is what the spirit of God is saying to you now, and to keep you eyes on Jesus,

She is suffering no more , and never will she fall again...Can you imagine the Joy she is feeling now , looking into the Face our her Lord and Savior...One thing I do see in you that she has left behind , a beautiful caring and compassionate son...You will see your Mother once again when the Good Lord calls you home , and she will be all brand new...

I pray God blesses you and your family as you grieve , this to shall pass...Sent with love...
