I've dealt with this temptation for a long time. As a teenager starting at 13 years old, my older friend and I would dress up in the skimpiest outfit we could find, imagine a fake identity, and walk the streets to challenge each other for who could get the most attention.
When I went to college, on days when I really felt bad about myself, I would do the same thing. In Los Angeles you get A LOT of attention walking down a dark and crowded street with everything hanging out. I guess it's kind of like a drinking problem. Everything gets a little stressful, and it takes the edge off. Do I think it's smart. No! I'm not 100% sure of why I even desire it. Ultimately it stems from a lifetime of sexual abuse, being raised by a father who was a sex addict and saw women only as objects, and living with a very broken co-dependent mother who always reminded me that I was a tease.
I don't really act out any more. I can't remember the last time I actually walked the streets, but the temptation is still there.

1 corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

I am very sorry of things that you have suffered. Pain can cause you to make decisions that are not good for you. We often want a way to help ourself feel better, be better or even be accepted. The actions that we take bring attention, but it is not healthy attention. It isnt good for us because the end result in still pain. You may have a mom with issues and a dad with issues. however, you have to begin with you and be accountable for the choices that you are now making. If you want to change then you really have to desire that in your heart. David cried out to God in the bible and he asked God to create in him a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within him(psalm 51:10). Cry out to God. Ask God to change your heart little by little as you are able to bare it. He is merciful and will help you. The Lord spoke to me about change once before. He said, it requires a willing heart. Change starts on the inside of us and is in time seen on the outside and only God can change us...amen. I pray for you to be in the word and on your knees in the presence of the Lord so that He can deliver you...amen!! God bless.

^^ I agree, I would also like to add on Romans 8:2 "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 "(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds) Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."
Friend, not only have you been set free from all sin but you have been given the power to control all your thoughts in Jesus name! If you are ever tempted to do any sin, just confess that you are free from sin and capture your thoughts to obey and think about God by simply commanding them. God bless you friend!

Amen to that! Don't let who your family or parents are dictate who God want you to be!

Proverbs 3:5,6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Hey, I'm praying for you! Temptations can always be a tough thing to avoid. But resisting them gets the best results! When you keep your mind on God, it's so much easier to keep to avoid temptations

Heavenly Father,

I stand with Jordache as she brings these things into the light. I pray for her to be forgiven LORD. She wants to be more like You, but, she is the clay, and You are the potter. She needs You to do this and she is putting herself into Your hands.

Let her see you mold her through Your Word. Mold her into a vessel fit for honor and special occasions. Let Your Word spring forth from her like rivers of living water. Let her find freedom in the new creation the she is in Christ. Let her abide in Him, in connection to Him always, and let Christ mature in her. Let her bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit 100 fold. Tend to this tree Lord.

Purify her heart and conscience by the blood of Your Son. Give her victory in her whole heart. Let her continue to claim Christ as her very own.

1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Let her look at the temptation, right in the eye, and realize who he is.

Let her declare to the Tempter:

"Temptation, you are Satan, you are the spirit of the world, the spirit of the anti-christ."

Satan, the Lord rebuke you.

The LORD is my righteousness.

(make sure you take your Sword handle first. Don't let Satan use it against you, declare these to him, to the temptation, not to yourself. You are right with God, perfect in God's eyes through Christ, the LORD does not condemn you, nor does He want you skewering yourself with your Sword. Now, use your Sword to condemn the enemy of your soul, the Word of the LORD will disarm him and overtake him)

IT IS WRITTEN:

Abstain from fleshly lust that wage war against the soul.

I am to possess (control) my body in honor and sanctification;
...as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to the Lord.
God has not called me to uncleanness, but to holiness
My body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.
My body is not my own, it was bought with a price, it belongs to the LORD.
This body is the LORD's house and I am to be a wise steward of it.

I can not serve two masters.

It is written:

Worship the LORD God and him only shall I serve.
Sin leads to death and GOD's Word will not let you (Satan) conceive sin in me.
I will not die, I will live and declare the works of the LORD.
No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
The Word of the Lord will raise a standard up against the flood of my enemies.
They will flee seven ways from me.
The Word of the LORD is tried, He is a shield to all those who put their trust in Him.
The LORD justifies me and I am the righteousness of Christ, this is my faith.
I will live and declare the works of the LORD.
Every tongue that rises up against me I shall condemn.
This is my heritage in the LORD and my righteousness if of HIM.
The LORD will rise up against the wrath of my enemies.
They will fall into their own traps.
The LORD will perfect everything that concerns me.
He is my Good Father, and He will discipline me, if I need it.
He will complete the good work He has started in me.
Everything works together for my good.
In Jesus' righteousness I am dead to sin, alive to Christ, and right with GOD.
GOD is for me and not against me.
Nothing can separate me from His love.
The blood of Christ cleanses me from all unrighteousness.
In Christ, I am a new creation not subject to God's wrath.
The LORD is for me and not against me.
Every time my enemies shoot their arrows, the LORD will shoot back at them, wounding them suddenly.
They are fallen at my feet.
I cast them out like dirt in the streets.

I say "stop" to my enemies in high places, in Jesus Name.
I put them in bonds, in chains, in Jesus Name.
Let them be taken to the sea and cast into the depths.

Let me look for them, but, not be able to find them.
Let them become as nothing.

As for me, I will serve the LORD.
The rivers will not overflow me, the fire will not kindle upon me.
The LORD is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Remember to pray:

Lord, lead me not into temptation, deliver me from evil.
And... let me hate what You hate and love what You love. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Some other weapons are:

Thanksgiving
Worship
Praying for the peace of Israel and Jerusalem
Praying for yourself and your relationship with God. (I get on my knees an put my face to the ground and pray when the storms are to much for me.)
Praying for the body of Christ
Praying for people who minister to be powerful in the LORD and effective, to be able to speak and preach boldy
Praying for your neighbors and peace in your city
Praying for your leaders
Praying for your country
Exercising yourself to be praying in the Spirit, all the time if possible.

....all of this will become easier in time as you learn how to stand on Christ and resist temptation. For now, just do what you can, and be persistent in whatever you do.

2Co 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)
2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2Co 10:6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

If you would pray something like this for me, I would be forever grateful:

Eph 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
Eph 6:20 ...that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

And lastly... something to keep in mind as you continue to resist sin:

Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Heavenly Father,

I stand with Your children in prayer for Your daughter. Put Your heart in her and let her hate what You hate and love what You love. Let her lead nations to You I pray in Jesus Name. Amen.
