Last night I was organizing some paperwork. One of the tasks is to take the receipts of the week and put them into an envelope for the month. As I handled the little bits of paper I scanned the purchases. It was a very normal task. This morning it hit me. Part of my household routine is to make lists of what is needed and then I go buy what is on the list. It is not a luxurious list but it is enough. It is such an ordinary thing but today I am struck by that miracle. God has supplied my needs. We have not gone hungry this week. Things as simple as tissue during cold and flu season, shampoo, bread and sweet oranges were all on the list and I was able to obtain them. Then I thought of those who cannot get the basics. There just is not the money. Whether through lack of employment, poor health mentally or physically or a host of other issues, they are without what we consider basic.
I want to ask you all to join me in lifting up those that can't just go get the basics. I want God to inspire us for the ways we can help. I want to thank God for how richly he does bless us. I want to ask his forgiveness for not seeing and thanking him for the host of daily blessings that flood our lives. Thank you all for being part of those blessings.

Amen, sister, it is a blessing to be able to carry out simple tasks and a simple list. Counselor's have always tried to limit main counseling issues since so many people carry so many burdens.

One Christian counselor said to write down a few burdens on notes and put them in a cup at night and let the Lord take care of those few while asleep.

I'll join in with the prayers to lift up the homeless and poor so we can help one another. Jesus is still homeless. I may be also again due to not doing those lists and car maintenance and one day the starter that is failing, does not work in cold weather. But I was rescued by teamwork, and trusting God and a nice lady took me in and saved me from a long cold drive and being alone on my birthday, and God's healing saved us both from stressful breakdowns just like our cars. We both still need rent in separate towns but several people were helped working together.

I shouldn't have partied away my last few dollars in a rowdy bar just because it was my birthday and I wanted to tip the bartender because she was nice, but I tried to call every lady I knew, so I could stay as far away from any dude that came near me because everyone thinks I'm gay and a loser, and it was better than being alone, but no one had sex that I could see or got arrested for a DUI, and I only had 3 beers. One nice Indian gal offered to pay $5.00 for a cab since she said it was cheaper than $10,000 for court, but she said she preferred to drink and shower alone at home instead of being a designated driver for some clueless stranger trying to pick up chicks in an Alaskan bar instead of at church.

But let's all do 3 good things on our lists with the prayers of the saints today.
God bless you!
