Okay here's the deal, I know we're suppose to witness, testify, set an example, uplift others, etc. etc. and all that...but I also know that if someone won't listen, and they make not effort at all to change things, and they start to or you worry they will start to have a negetive effect on you and your walk/relationship with Christ then you should not associate with them anymore.
Keep praying for them and everything, but I'm just in a tough spot here. There was a guy I was developing a friendship with, who also told me he had an interest in me. That someday he hoped we could date or whatever. Well long story short, he found a girl he liked better. So he slowly just didn't seem like himself anyomore, then one day he tells me something I didn't expect.
I wasn't good enough or pretty enough and blah blah blah for him, in fact, he said my faith is too strong. That I'm a way more stronger Christian than him and apperently that was the biggest issue.
I offered to help him strengthen his walk and realtionship with Chirst, but he made up excuse after excuse. I decided to let him go all together, even as a friend because he was just dragging me down and really hurt me. Did I do the right thing? I"m not sure, please pray about this.
After all, the Bible tells us the following.Matthew 6:33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Psalm 27:4One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
Lamentations 3:25The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
Colossians 3:1-2 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 1:9-11For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.(I got this one cause he was a couple of years older than me).
Proverbs 10:9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
1 Thessalonians 2:12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
This is all I truly want and desire in life, to do those things. The things GOD instructed me to do, to fulfill His law and word and everything. To honor and glorify Him, but I'm not sureif maybe He wanted me to drop this guy even as a friend, or to keep trying with him.
At the time I felt so strongly, drop him, he's doing nothing but "harm" to your walk and realtionship with Christ and everything. Now I'm not totally sure, my heart's heavy, it's hard to tell. Please pray God shows me a certain answer, and I'm sorry this is so long, but those verses were needed and everything.
God bless everyone!
