I have been struggling through the most difficult time of my life for the last 19 months. I have prayed, read the bible, and gone to church more during this time than I had my whole life before this began. But nothing has really changed! I don't even know what to believe anymore... different christians say different things (even contradictory things) but they all use scripture to support it. It's just too much and I'm just too tired and overwhelmed. I just don't know if all this about God (grace, hope, restoration etc) is real anymore.

Hmmm!

Are you telling US you got cracked?

If you were at a war... Will you give THE ENEMY all the information you were given?

We are at war, this is a SPIRITUAL war.

I have walked the depth of that dark valley.

Just find out where that is leading you and KEEP ON ASKING GOD (He reveals HIMSELF when HE wants to). Can you be pushed or forced to say whatever thigs you don't want to?

He is a KING! And I try to surrender to HIS will (of course: I am a sinner).

I'm not the best person in world, but NOT the worst.

Joshua!

Come back to HIM.

You are almost 40 years in the wilderness... You have the name of my son, but you have the name of a WARRIOR MAN.

Fight and beat THE ENEMY.

Praying for your strength and faith! Jesus is the answer not people or churches. Find the faith within yourself then Leopold and churches can help you build on it but first you must build trust in jesus

Keep on praying! God is listening. But remember, He has 3 answers for you : yes/no/wait. If it's "wait', then be patient.

remember too, that ''when you pray, believe that you'd receive''. .

You can talk to well-advised people. Older people of course,as they've been there already .Smile!

Perhaps this "struggle" is the reason you're seeking God, which may mean you're seeking Him for the wrong reason. In my experience, many only seek God when they have a problem. We must seek His face, not His hands.

2 Chronicles 7:12-14 (KJV) [SUP]12 [/SUP]And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. [SUP]13 [/SUP]If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; [SUP]14 [/SUP]If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Hope this helps.

What do parents teach their children to do if they ever get lost? Stay where you are. I will find you

The innocent curiosity of a child (what is that?) and desire for knowledge (how, why?) can sometimes lead to trouble. How many stories have we heard of children wandering off and getting lost in the woods? When a child gets tired or tires of whatever thing drew him into the woods, all they know is that they want to go home. But when they look away from the object of their curiosity in the woods the first thing that happens is panic. They look around and realize nothing is familiar. Everything is disorienting. "Where am I?" Noises and shapes that never bothered them before leave them trembling now that they are alone. They immediately start to run around looking for the way back. They call out for their Mom and Dad. But the more they meander around the more lost they get. At some point they just stop. They are exhausted and the only thing left is tears. Maybe they fall asleep but when they awaken hungry and thirsty they are just too overwhelmed to move. And that's when they start hearing their named called.

As adults we have a thirst for knowledge and understanding. And in times of crisis that need is multiplied by 1000. We want to know the "why?" and "how?" because generally we are looking beyond understanding, we are looking to fix or control an outcome. This seeking is not a bad thing, not at all. It is that curiosity or desire born out of adversity that has resulted in the many great leaders, inventions, etc. in this world. As a Christian it is natural to lean on God in times of crisis. You feel lost. As such, it is common for us to start digging deeper to try and manage all the emotions and if we are honest, to change the outcome. You focus on God, you pray more, you go to Church more, you read and research...but nothing changes. And since nothing has changed you must not be doing enough. "I must not be getting it. I must be misinterpreting what he wants". So you do more. You talk to more people. You consult forums, research scripture analysis online. Oh my aching head (I am challenged by the information overload all the time as my nature is science and logic oriented so I am guilty of seeking absolutes). Rather than making headway you simply are left feeling more lost and confused. STOP! Stay where you are. Just as a child lost in the woods, go ahead and cry, kick at the rocks, have a temper tantrum...just let it out..all of it. STOP seeking to control the outcome. Just tell him everything. The good, bad and the ugly, from fears and frustrations to desires. STOP trying to map all your knowledge into a definition of a good Christian. Simply look into your heart and be honest about what you believe and don't worry about getting it perfect. Be still and let God find you.

Yeah, so what are you going to do, go live in hell for enternity? What else is there but to keep believing. You think your problems keep God from being God. No, your problems are probably because you sinned. You found a husband(wife) from lust, you found a career from lust, you loved money. No, it wasn't God who put you where you are but you. So, repent, humble thyself in the sight of the Lord he will lift you up.

Have faith in Jesus Christ. Faith in Christians will disappoint often.

Each of us has the problem that we have sinned and are guilty. Jesus Christ is the only Savior from the wrath of God.

The display of God's wrath and judgment is deferred but it will come.

Sometimes we try too hard. Different Christians believe different things and frequently have Scripture they think proves their points. Relax a bit.

Maybe it's time for a break from people conversations and just relaxing in God's love. Our brains can be overwhelmed with information and trying to decide what's correct and what isn't. Satan loves to exhaust us in religious endeavors! The Holy Spirit will reveal the truth to you when your brain is relaxed enough to receive it.

I find walks in nature to be very relaxing; many times I feel closer to God outside in His creation. And not pondering anything big...just worshiping and praising Him. Satan will definitely flee in this atmosphere :).
