!! UPDATE NUMBER 3 !!

I was talking to Esra's sister today. The latest is...he will never ever eat/drink again. They are feeding him through a tube going into his stomach. At this point that is sufficient, but there is a high risk that his body will reject even that in the future. He has been able to leave hospital for a day or so when Drs think he is fit enough to. This is a huge blessing to his family. I told his sister that you are all praying for him and her family and she was sooo grateful and happy to know this! So she wishes to pass on her thanks!

Thank you all for lifting Esra to the Lord, we continue to pray that God will be with him and his family in every stage of this journey!
God bless you all heaps!

!! Update 4 !!

At Church today, Esra's Mum got up to say that he is going to have to be transferred to Auckland Hospital which is at the other end of NZ....on the other island too! He is already battling with homesickness and struggling with the effects of the disease so please keep his state of mind and homesickness in you're prayers too.

Praise God though, that the feeding tube which is going directly to his bowel (not stomach - my mistake) is sustaining him. They thought that the maximum they would get each day would be 70 calories....they upped it to 100...the optimum being 2000 to stop his weight going dangerously low (which it has been) but God is a good God in that he is now taking in 3000 calories a day. So that is something to be thankful for.

They will transfer Esra as soon as the Dr's clear him for flight to Auckland as there are medical teams with more experience with this disease....however expert help in the specifics of the disease has to come via links to Drs in America. There remains absolutely NO HOPE for Esra except for God's intervention in this. More arteries are blocking every day and the ones going to his brain are now 50% blocked.

Myself and some friends are going to try and get a team of us from Church together to go down to see Esra and put a mini concert on in the Childrens Ward where he has been living. Please pray that this can go ahead so we can connect Esra with as many of his school/youth group friends as possible before he has to head away to Auckland. As a musician himself - we think that bringing some music to him would hopefully build him up also!

THANKS again for your prayers!
Will let you know more as information comes to hand.
Blessings on you all :)

Can I share my story?
My husbands family was struck with carbon monoxide poisoning in the home where I lost my mother-in-law and nearly lost my father-in-law and sister-in-law. As my mother-I-L lay dying...she was already dead..we drove 14 hours straight to be at her side...., my SIL had a heart attack, stroke and stopped breathing in the next room and she wasn't supposed to function let alone LIVE...but through the Grace of God, she DID!!!!
5 weeks she spent in ICU, 5 weeks we spent praying and God answered our prayers. He will answer yours|!!!!And if he doesn't choose to answer them in the way you wish, consider what you can get out of the result :)

We prayed and prayed and you know what, she is HEALED, SHE IS NORMAL and scienticically speaking, she shouldn't be.
It's been 5 years and it still makes me cry.....

!! UPDATE No 2 !!
The blood vessels in Esra's body are slowly shutting down. His bowl is not working at all. The arteries are blocking and the Surgeon can do no more. Aside from a miracle at this stage, which restores every blood vessel in his body, he will die. (though no-one knows how long it will be before he does). BUT our God is a God of miracles....so I continue to pray for one! !!!

Thank you to all of you for partnering with me in this! I will pass on to his family that you are all praying for him also.

God richly bless you all :)

hi sorry, i didn't know where to post this so i ended up posting it here. I wanted to do bible study with another person/few people over the net with audio starting next year and i was wondering if anybody was interested. I have spinal cord injury and pain everyday, so i feel i can relate to others that are sick. I was wondering if there was anybody else out there whom were also in pain or suffering, that wanted to have a small bible study say 3 times a week focusing particularly on healing scriptures in the bible, and praying to ask God for healing. It would be convenient because it would happen through the net, maybe on msn or skynet. My email address is [email protected] let me know if you're interested. It's better to be together on this road of life rather than shouldering the burden alone, particularly if that burden is pain and suffering.

Lord Jesus you said if we ask anything in your name we will recieve it. I am asking for a quick recover for Esra I may not know him but Lord you do.
I leave him in your hands Lord and please be there for his family as they go through this difficult time. Amen

!! UPDATE 5 !!

Esra has been allowed to come home from hospital for a few days! This is the first time in months. He has been battling serious homesickness so this was a massive answer to prayer! He even got to spend a day at a camp some of his closest friends were at!!

Now he is back in hospital and awaiting news of when he will be transferred to Auckland Hospital. (the other end of the country)!! Once there, that is where he will stay. This will be hard on him and his family.

There is no change with his prognosis, but, at the moment he is stable and we are thanking the Lord for that! There are a team of us, including Esra's sister Grace, who are coordinating some musicians to go to the hospital to put on a concert for him. Please pray we get this to happen in the new year BEFORE he gets transferred to the other end of the country!

Thank you again for your wonderful prayers....you are partners in this battle and all of us who love Esra are so appreciative!
God bless

!! UPDATE 7 !!

A small yet significant answer to prayer!! I saw Esra with his Mum down town today! He is home for Christmas Day...subject to him remaining stable as he is now. He looks incredibly ill, but his sister said he was so excited to get away from his hospital bed!

So, thank you for your continued prayers....they are making a significant difference! :D

ohkay i can see your troubled about this and i know it is normal to be,

philippians 4:6-7..

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

and i tell you, the peace of god is more than you can imagine! i have experience it and it is amazing!!
