Emily, I appreciate your prayer. Father listens to prayers.

danja, how are you doing? I am 20 hours into my fast and feel a bit tired. I have a fruitful day, reading the Bible and taking part in prayer meeting. I am ready to retire to my bed and listen to great sermons.

Albania! I checked the map and it is north of Greece. Are you a native of Albania? What is Albania like? Tell me something about Albania. Are there many Christians there?

danja. it is great that different people groups in Albania are friendly and get along. is the Christian Church there devoted to preaching the Gospel?

How is your fasting? I concluded my fast this morning. I will do another short fast next week.

Father God, I give all thanksgiving to You for sustaining me throughout my fast. I pray for a special blessing for all who prayed for me. I pray for danja to grow in her knowledge of You as she fasts. I pray for all who viewed this thread and are considering a Christian fast. I pray the seed of Christian fast will grow in their lives and bear fruit. In Jesus’ name.

Natalie ,yes christian churches do a good job preaching the gospel here ,but there are mormons and jehovah's witnesses who go door to door to preach .Other denominations stay inside the church and preach the true gospel .I believe our churches are smaller than in usa but people love Jesus :D
I had to end my fast yesterday ,which is a day and a half cause of heart issues. But i am fasting again today :D
great you want to fast again .I encourage you to do it often :D

Danja, thank you for your description of the church scene in Albania. I agree that mornons and JW do not preach the true Gospel. But I deplore the fact that the vast majority of Christians (in US) stay inside the church. Most Christians should get much more active and diligent to save the lost who do not come to church activities. We should get out to our neighborhood and city on a regular/weekly basis to preach the Gospel. Mormons’ and JW’s zeal could make most Christians who claim to love the Lord feel ashamed.

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matt. 28:18-20)

“I encourage you to do it often.” Doing fasting “often” has a potential problem. We need a regular dose of minerals from food to keep our bones strong. (I don't trust mineral pills and they do have problems.) Women especially. If one does fasting “often”, she better does a thorough research on bone health before too late. That said, one day or two of regular fasting each week should be OK if one takes in healthy foods on other non-fasting days. I take in much grass-fed home-made full-fat yogurt on days surrounding my fasting days.

I am starting a 50-hour fast. I will appreciate prayer support. Fasting's main difficulty lies in mental resolve in my case. The physical part is relatively easy, since my health is good and my diet is clean and, normally, I don't experience physical discomfort while fasting.

Anyone wants to join the fasting for mutual encouragement? Jump in any time.

danja, how is your fasting going? I am more than half way through this present 50-hour commitment. Fasting is never easy. Several times a day I find myself finishing a job and thinking to myself "now I will have something to eat" and then remember I cannot eat. lol
I hope it will get easier as weeks go by. But at least I do not dread it now.

I am starting a 50-hour fast. Fasting is not easy; therefore, practicing regular fasting helps me become a disciplined disciple of Christ in an affluent society. I tell myself: fasting is much easier than my Lord hanging on the Cross for the sins of other people.

I did fasting only for one day this week. So I am starting a dry fast now, for 36 hours this time. May the Lord help me in doing a fast that is pleasing in His sight.
Anyone wants to join me?
