Hi everyone, OP here. I think I have changed my view on eternal torture. It's what we in the West have mostly grown up on. It's what we learned since we were young. But after paying more attention to the Scripture and what it truly says, I think I am officially leaning more towards annihilation.

I don't know what to tell you except to reexamine Luke 16 where it clearly teaches that the paradise side was so close to the torment side of Sheol that they could communicate. Clearly they were in close proximity to each other.

Because the Bible has patterns, and in NO OTHER parable did Jesus use actual names. It was always a woman, or a man, or a servant or bridesmaid.

I don't think so. i think Jesus was giving an account of a true story, since in all other parables he never gave the characters a name. He did in this, and only this story.

I believe in eternal torment, as probably most of us do here. But this guy lays out a pretty good argument for annihilation.
