Hi Abigail! Yes I'm fine and haven't forgotten about you! I've kind of had a lot going on and haven't taken the time to respond to the emails. But I did read them and Will definitely respond.

    My favorite YouTube music channel.

Oh I like this song. One time I helped sing it a capella with a pretty big group and it was fun!

Books, Movies, Music; where to draw the line

I agree many times we will feel uncomfortable when the Lord isn't pleased with something we're doing because of His Spirit in us. Also there are other times we need to have our "senses exercised to discern both good and evil". Hebrews 5:14. Thank you for sharing.

    What are you watching 😏

There is a fine line when it comes to entertainment. I started a thread along those lines the other day in the Young Adults section; I'd be curious to hear your thoughts over there.

    Introducing me

Welcome and God bless you. I see on your profile that you were just saved this month. God bless you in your walk with Him. I'm not far from your age but maybe 25 seems ancient to you still lol.

    Honoring all His children

Another thing I wanted to mention is that, clearly, the Roman Catholic church system isn't the only one that's corrupt, so I'm not just picking out Catholicism here. I explained in another thread recently why I'm not a part of any "church".

    Honoring all His children

First of all, I agree we should "honor all men" as commanded in 1 Peter 2:17. And we are to love our brother, our neighbor, and our enemy. That leaves no one out for sure. Secondly, it's wonderful that you and your wife have been able to have a happy marriage despite your differences. I can't...

IS IT OBLIGATORY FOR CHRISTIANS TO BE GOING TO CHURCH?

Amen! I'll pray for you that the Father will bless you with strength for the journey. Remember you're never alone even in the daytime with the Lord by your side.

IS IT OBLIGATORY FOR CHRISTIANS TO BE GOING TO CHURCH?

The main reason I'm not part of a "church" is because I believe denominations are very unscriptural. Jesus prayed in John 17 that we believers would be one. Not as in ecumenical, but in Christ and in truth. And then there's what's called "non-denominational" (but are they? hmmm...) but are they...

    Hello all from the UK

It's okay. I do have to disagree though that the culture was almost identical. Maybe it was their idea of government control and their economical status that were the most obvious differences between them, but the cultures were different too. I'm not an expert on the history of the War Between...

    Hello all from the UK

Not to hurt any Yankee feelings but the war was NOT primarily about slavery. Research it. Even Abe Lincoln (whose wife, btw, held seances in his home after the death of their son) said he didn't have the desire to do away with slavery. It was more about taxation, and it was more like an...

Reading the bible literally or figuratively... that is the question

I'm not sure, I haven't really studied it. But looking at it now, the beginning of chapter 8, after God shows Amos the basket of summer fruit, He says, "The end is come upon my people of Israel." A few verses later their sins are described, then God tells what His judgement will be. I'm...

Reading the bible literally or figuratively... that is the question

That's how I took the questions, not as an interrogation.:) Wow I didn't know JW's believe that. I did hear one say that it wasn't a literal 6 day creation, but millions of years.

Reading the bible literally or figuratively... that is the question

Thanks for this. I think those probably are good reasons why people think it's changed. I think they quote Amos 8:11 "...I will send a famine...of hearing the words of the LORD:" as a proof that God would allow for something like that to happen, but I don't think that's what it's talking about.

Made a horrible mistake and now I think I'm paying for it

You do have to remember you're making yourself vulnerable by what you said in your OP. You'll get caring people and critical people, and you may confuse the two. But I'm pretty sure you'll be in some people's prayers.

Reading the bible literally or figuratively... that is the question

I was referring to how that verse seems to prove false the idea that the Bible has been changed by the so-called Mandela Effect.
