    Coming out of Denominational Churches

At a Duncan Campbell revival an old Scotsman prayed about the young people in 5he meeting. " LORD, You must be disappointed to see So much of the steam going to the whistle, when it should be going to the pistons! " Quaint language, but very practical. It is the established churches that have...

Does God continue to love us all, has God continued from day one of the fall of Adam?

When you reply to a post saying ' you ' in your reply then you are making a personal reply to that person. If you want to make an impersonal reply use ' one' as in one can reply to a post with out being personal to the poster.

Does God continue to love us all, has God continued from day one of the fall of Adam?

I'd be interested in learning how you read that in my post? Equally to learn how as a Bible scholar you ignore all the biblical references to teachers, preachers and leaders. As a Christian you will be firmly embedded in a local church, willing to submit to its teaching, leading and discipline.

Where do pastors stand on 'mild drinks' like beer?

Jesus isn't honoured by what we do or don't do. He is honoured by the intent behind what we do or don't do. There is nothing wrong with socialising with friends over a beer or two. Do those friends know you are Christian, would they attend church or a men's event at church if you asked...

Does God continue to love us all, has God continued from day one of the fall of Adam?

Yes God is Love, but God's love is not a soft fluffy love. Gods Love is the tough practical love that enables one to learn through painful lessons that sin hurts.

    New Here.

Best advice I can give is to attend a church that expounds the bible and seeks to practise what it preaches. Ask the minister about the books of the Bible he is currently preaching his way through. Then ask about leadership accountability. How would he deal with a claim that an elder touched a...

If I drink a beer, will I go to Hell?

To basic biblical facts. Jesus turn water into wine for a drunken wedding feast, tens of gallons of water into 1st class wine. We are to.d not to get drunk. So if you enjoy a beer, or a couple of glasses of wine with a meal or relaxing with a g&t go ahead. Just don't be a bad example to...

    Struggling

May I suggest that you talk to your doctor about your feelings of depression and of tiredness. If you can talk to a Christian you respect and seek out a church where you can slip in the back and worship. There is a God, why else is there anything. Sometimes we just need to stop and look/listen.

    Contradictions in the Bible?

One has to realise that there are many different literary techniques used in the bible. Not every poetic passage is literally true ditto the apocalyptic passages or the hyperbole used in prose. A simple example. John10:7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for...

When You Can't Pray or Hear God

It is shocking to learn that things like this can happen in one's family. You need time to grieve over what has happen and to build your resolve. May I suggest a few things. Keep in contact with your sister, she and her husband are the ones bearing the brunt of the emotional and practical...

How do you know if you have truly forgiven someone?

If you abusers keep reappearing in your life and if we are talking about name calling, or emotional manipulation or spiritual manipulation. Then you need witnesses who will stand by you as your abusers are reported to the police or if in church to the church authorities. Regardless of...

    Flesh vs Spirit

There's an old saying:- Those who are most heavenly minded, are of most earthly use. We don't need rituals or rites to worship God, we need minds that are concentrating on Jesus.Jesus said if you love me you will obey my commands. Jesus commanded that we...

    Forgive 70x7 Matt 18:21-22

It's true that there is no forgiveness without repentance. That is what the bible teaches. We as imitators of God should only forgive if the offender repents and like Jesus on the cross, hand the unrepentant over to God to deal with.

    Who killed Goliath?

1Sam17:49 The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. 50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him. David's stone killed goliath, in beheading him David made it visible...

    Forgive 70x7 Matt 18:21-22

As I understand it 7 is regarded in the bible as a perfect number.. 7 spirits of God has an example so 70 x 7 isn't a mathematical formula, but represents infinity. More relevantly forgiveness is only practical if there is repentance from the offender.
