    A Double Standard in Christianity?

Phoebe was a deacon (servant of the church). Priscilla was a servant (helper in Christ), the 4 daughter were also servant (prophesying). No doubt they are all servants of Christ. But they cannot be overseers (bishops). Bishop qualifications 1 Tim 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire...

    A Double Standard in Christianity?

I cite only to those who are interested in the truth. From the conversation which you have initiated, you are far from this state. The only refutation to post-modern feminism is "You are wrong". You can quote me. :-)

    A Double Standard in Christianity?

Not sure what you are saying... but I agree it is 100% their translation. The ESV, NRSV and Reverse Interlinear are not the consensus translation. Why trust the 3 over the rest? The most obvious conclusion is that it is self-serving.

    A Double Standard in Christianity?

I hear no arguments, just opinion. Your rally cries through out this OP seem to come from an ideology and not from faith. Your cohort of supporters seem to speak in unison (of one agenda) with no sprinkling of personality or logic. You are an ideologue, peddling a secular idea. By the by...

    A Double Standard in Christianity?

I recommend you lookup Sandra Richter, The Robert H. Gundry Chair of Biblical Studies. She addresses this issue quite nicely. Also, a bit of advice, what you present are conjectures without substantive proof. They are absolutely unconvincing. Cite. Cite . Cite. if you wish to shake...

    A Double Standard in Christianity?

I will certainly read you posts, time willing. Not angry at all. But arguing for arguments sake does not serve the truth. Have a good day.

    A Double Standard in Christianity?

You have demonstrated your scholarship in previous OPs, so you will forgive me if I don't believe you. I will certainly look into this, time permitting. Send me the paper which discusses it if you will. But for now I think I will trust the majority of translations which use "man" and...

    A Double Standard in Christianity?

Are you speaking history or scriptures? :-) Your context is self serving. The church is the bride. Christ is not the head of husbands. Did you not have a father as child? Was he not the man who took you to church. Your context not mine. The definition of a widow is a married women whose...

    A Double Standard in Christianity?

This is an awkward question. Would it not be better "Having gone through your Bible, did you not become intolerant to certain verses?" No I am not a versist! I do not pick one verse to obey and another to ignore. Like, say, 1 Cor 11:1-3 to ignore. This is also an awkward question. Would it...

1 Corinthians 11 1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. 2Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. 3But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and...

    A Double Standard in Christianity?

You cited 9 verses. 3 of the 9 states husband/wife relationship. Not really a majority, no? The ESV, NRSV are somewhat controversial bible translations ("The ESV is based upon an entirely DIFFERENT Greek text than the King James Bible", "..NRSV is more liberal than the ESV..." - I will...

    A Double Standard in Christianity?

Matthew 19:13-15. Children in the faith.... Where is the mention of marriage context within 1 Corinthians 11:1-16? Or is the entire bible the context? Also 1 Corinthians 11:16 If anyone is inclined to dispute this, we have no other practice, nor do the churches of God. (I put the BSB lest the...

What is the congregational order? 1 Corinthians 11:3 "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. " Does it affect your inheritance? No. Romans 8:17 "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and...

I think you banged it on the head. My reading of the Scriptures is God wants to authentic (good word) relationship. The Presence of God is Death to the unclean(Leviticus) . The Scriptures through the Advocacy of Jesus permits us to finally meet God and live. Scriptures enhances the faith...

What you describe are spirits which are not holy. Be undaunted in your faith and follow the Scriptures. Here are some words to live by Heb 5:13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age...

Sorry Marilyn, thought I answered you already. That is my point. God will not let a great power correction to occur. The fifth seal reveals the reason why martyrs are killed. When there are no more humans, there are no more martyrs. I believe the New Earth is the old earth ruled by Jesus...

The Difference between Daniel 2 and Daniel 7.

Not irritated at all. When a refutation are just snide remarks, I assume it is effectively the end of the conversation. There is no need to further delve in the hebrew or greek as the nuance in those languages will be lost on you. Proverbs 17:14 To start a quarrel is to release a flood; so...
