Great point. It's like John has the "triple threat" with his gospel, his three epistles, and Revelation. No other NT writer can claim that fame for sure. I don't think the three theme is any accident in John's work. I'm seeing more recent criticism and scholars who are saying another "John"...

That's a great question, and I'll let Pilgrim chime in too. I would say "water and spirit" are one, just like the Father and Jesus are one. Spirit takes precedence for sure in my opinion.
