    The cross

Have you read the Bible ? I'm afraid that it does call for various people to be put to death and other than those things specifically mentioned in the sermon on the mount we are told that not a jot of the Law is altered. I pointed out there that we are told not to suffer a witch to live, so how...

    3 sets of 10 commandments?

I'm quite surprised at the level of hostility towards Catholicism really. Which type of alternative church do people here think has the real answers ? Is there such a church, or do they just personally know the final answers ?

    3 sets of 10 commandments?

Some of those things I'd agree with. Some seem a bit ill informed and even hostile to be honest. It's better to discuss these things rationally and learn together through dialogue than choose sides and fight. Do you think that's the Christian message ? There's some contoversy in the Catholic...

    Brexit - Politicians behaving badly.

It’s getting to a point where if you say anything in support of Brexit or hold any opinion other than secular socialism they’ll start in about Jo Cox and you’ve got to shut up

    3 sets of 10 commandments?

Well I expect it was because Our Lord told one of his disciples to go and start it. Perhaps he noticed that it was the Catholic Church that preserved Christianity in the early days and spread it through the world so that you've even heard of it. It's a very complicated thing you know. I've said...

    The cross

I think perhaps we reach the same destination by different roads. I think it's an increasing methodology and deception in the modern world to try to discredit the message by discrediting the messenger , and that's what the OP was trying to do. I'm not sure why we go into witch trials at Salem ...

    The cross

It's not necessarily wrong to judge a religion by people's actions if they're following that religion and what their scriptures tell them to do. Aren't we told to judge a prophet by the fruits of his words ? I don't take the OP as being earnest or straightforward to be honest, but you certainly...

    3 sets of 10 commandments?

Catholics are Christians . There seem to be a lot of practices in Catholic and other churches which seem on the face of it to contradict the scriptures, although sometimes they're possible to put into context .

That's being a bit superior in your attitude. You're right about the definition of dite, except that it's a common word - a verb really I suppose in Scotland and if means to scrape the cow muck out of the barn. You use a thing called a diter, which is like a big blade on a shovel handle.

This is a great game, but isn't it kind of cheating to look it up ? Here's one ......"dite", but my understanding of the word and it's common usage isn't the same as the Internet says.

The rune for Thor is "thurisaz" and it's like a P but with the top 'circle ' formed by straight lines ,(pointed if you like). Ps. Not being awkward, but I thought you might be interested.

Surely that's because a hammer is T shaped ? It's a hammer, not a symbol of anything except a hammer. There's no rune which corresponds to T( although you'd expect there to be because they were designed to be easy to carve ). The nearest is "tiwaz" but that's actually more like an upward...

    If Perchance Catholicism Is Mistaken

The Catholic Church is run by men, not God, so it will sometimes be mistaken and those who run it, being men, will sometimes sin. Sins may be great or small, and so may mistakes. Millions of Christians have lived and died as Catholics . Indeed, it was the Catholic Church which preserved and...

Syllabub was a regular pudding when I was a child in England, but we always thought it was originally Italian. It was so full of alcohol that you probably couldn't drive after eating it, but it was cream, lemon and maybe rum or brandy . Anyway, and I don't know whether I'm doing this right , my...

Just had an inspiration when praying. I wasn't thinking about you ,( although I'd prayed for you earlier), but it came to me that you must forgive ,and truly forgive , those who hurt you. I didn't think this out , it just happened so I think you should do it.

Hey, God made you and he doesn't make rubbish, so you mustn't dislike yourself. Maybe you made mistakes, but so has everyone. It's quite hard to get it right, but when you successfully invite the Lord Jesus Christ in, you probably won't need any tablets . I mean , don't just stop taking them...
