I understand, different scenario but same motive. (I didn't actually fully explain my story just very brief rundown hehe)

I did this to my best friend many years ago when he was going through a tough time. He lashed out at me and I got angry wondering why he did. Sometimes it's like rubbing salt on a wound, in hindsight now I shouldn't have said anything and just prayed for him! I see my motive now in that instance.

It's the Christian version of the rude finger. If you want to pray for someone, why tell them like that? Just go and do it, see if your prayer is in line with God's thoughts and be open and prepared for rebuke from Holy Spirit.

Within the context of what was happening at the time, there is no difference. He addresses their human thinking by drawing their thinking to God's will and He made it quite clear :giggle:

All the more reason for parents to be more involved in their children's education and not 100% leave it to someone else whatever school they may attend. We're blessed enough to be able to home school, as tough as it is :ROFL:

Reading about slavery in the bible is a real difficult thing for us, especially those particular passages and it is due to the disconnection between our modern culture and theirs. You can't remove context and expect to understand. We really need to dig deeper into understanding their culture...

What you have described is the difference between good or God. In my experience, the church is so concerned in doing what is seemingly 'obvious' as good that we run ahead doing what we think is God's work. Somewhat like Mary and Martha.
