    Faith or Law?

Yes, you are right regarding the law fulfilling its role to bring about wrath and to avoid its wrath one must obey it without fail. The Galatians passage nails this without any wiggle room. One of the more interesting words in Galatians 3:11 is "evident". It is easy and effortless for a person...

    Faith or Law?

Please reconcile your admission above that you are not always a doer of the law of Moses with your doctrines below which appear to be dependent on faithfull obedience to the law of Moses... This is why the faith by which we are declared righteous apart from works also upholds the Law of God...

    Faith or Law?

The thing that gets me is that when pressed, almost all people admit they are not sinlessly perfect. But when they admit this, they provide no explanation of how their law-facing point of view survives their admission of guilt. If forgiveness is needed to bridge the gap between sinless...

    Faith or Law?

Most law-facing people I run into do not acknowledge they are law-breakers and do not express an appreciation for our need for forgiveness. I think it is because the need for forgiveness conflicts with the idea that rightness with God is through obeying the law.

    Faith or Law?

I didn't deny it. I explained it. 19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather...

    Faith or Law?

It is not true that the law gives us "knowledge of what sin is". Eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil did that. On the contrary, the law teaches those who read it that God sees their sins, does not like it, has declared them guilty, and has condemned them to eternal death...

It is interesting to me that they would actually put these things in writing. I have certainly seen people describe salvation as being a cooperative effort between God and man, and saying so implies that man merits his own salvation, but I have never ran into anyone who says plainly their good...

I guess I don't see your premise correctly. Are you saying that every person is made temporarily alive so that it would be fair for God to judge them on their yes or no decision to trust in Christ because fairness could not occur in the fallen state because only a negative decision is possible?

Do you know what your protesting

This question hangs on the premise that lost people do not have any ability whatsoever to place their trust in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. If we could establish the veracity of the premise, the conclusion would be a foregone conclusion.

It will certainly be a game changer when we shed this skin of flesh and see Him as He is.

Why waffle on "complete assurance"? Every time we sin, God brings us to repentance through His correction. And restoration always comes at the expense of Christ. It is not as if He suffers again when we sin because He paid the price for all sins with His one sacrifice. But decades of...

I'm not a member of the reformed movement. And I'm not sure what you are ferring to when you ask "where does that put us". What is "that"?

Without putting words into Watchman22's mouth, he believes there is a hidden meaning of πιστεύω (the Greek word for believe/trust/rely on) that has been lost in translation because the English language does not have a verbal form of the English word faith. When you drill down on his complaint...

Saving Faith in Christ is not Faith Alone in Christ

This is a false dicodomy. It is common for people who preach false doctrine to view people who disagree with their doctrine as disagreeing with the Bible. They see their view as being the only correct view and refuse to consider evidence that challenges their view. It is ok with me for you to...

Saving Faith in Christ is not Faith Alone in Christ

No. Your statement, "You think I'm Jesus Christ" is evidence against your claim that that you are walking in the light and are free of sin. These judgemental and accusatory remarks that are based on eroneous assumptions about my beliefs are also evidence that you are not walking in the light and...

Seriously? This is how you think of yourself? One verse comes to mind... If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 Jn 1:8)

    Romans 10:17, a courtroom haearing?

The problem is that there is no hidden meaning in the Greek word for faith that unlocks secrets without which people stumble. The word itself is well known. But your group has taken an obscure reference in Vines and has created a theological view of salvation around that definition that in my...

    Romans 10:17, a courtroom haearing?

When a person builds his house on the Rock, it stands no matter what comes against it. When you say things like "And He took that life and today put it in your lap because He obviously wants and loves you. I just hope you'll give it the consideration it deserves.", it insinuates that the...
