    Christ Denier

It's not unpardonable so of course that person can still be saved. Paul vehemently opposed Christ before his conversion on the road to Damascus, so it seems to me that someone could still come to Jesus if they previously denied him, in fact I would say of course they could. Jesus bore our sins...

Did God create people for Hell on purpose?

When God created things in the beginning they were very good, so no I don't think he made people for hell. Adam and Eve were among those things very good and it was inevitable that they were going to have offspring. it started as very good, and things were very good when God did the creating, it...

    How true is this

I think Jesus said that all who were taught of God would come to him. So unless I'm mistaken those who have been saved have been taught by God at some point. Salvation is not a human effort it takes someone being born of God as it says in John 1. John 6:43-45 KJV 43 Jesus therefore answered and...

John 3:18 (what is necessary for salvation from what Jesus says here?)

John 3:18 King James Version 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Is simply believing in Jesus (like that he is a person and that he exists) enough to be saved...

Do the modern translations mistranslate Romans 10:9?

Yeah... I checked another translator and it gave me this: that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It seems I might have made an issue out of nothing, sorry to anybody who read the thread.

Do the modern translations mistranslate Romans 10:9?

The KJV's "that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus" meaning if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord does not come naturally to me at all. I honestly do not see that meaning in the words naturally, and I wouldn't have thought those words meant that unless I saw the modern...

Do the modern translations mistranslate Romans 10:9?

Ah, the original text for Romans 10:9 seems to be lost but according to Google "Papyrus 46" (approximately 175-225 AD) reads as: ὅτι ἐὰν ὁμολογήσῃς ἐν τῷ στόματί σου κύριον Ἰησοῦν, καὶ πιστεύσῃς ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ σου ὅτι ὁ θεὸς αὐτὸν ἤγειρεν ἐκ νεκρῶν, σωθήσῃ· Which translates to: That if you...

Do the modern translations mistranslate Romans 10:9?

Romans 10:9 English Standard Version 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 New International Version 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart...

Can someone ask Jezus what unforgivable really is? I can't stand this fear anymore😞

The unpardonable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. If you just said something negative about the Holy Ghost I don't think that is blasphemy. I think it has to be purposeful sacrilegious language against the Holy Ghost (literal blasphemy).

    The Lord waits for us

It was honestly bad etiquette to derail your thread like I did, sorry about that (I couldn't really do much once replies started happening). I should have been more conscious about your post and what I was posting in my original post. I agree with you, it is good to know that God waits for us...

    The Lord waits for us

I don't remember to be honest, but I wouldn't be afraid to talk about God's wrath if it did come up, it's evidenced throughout the Bible towards sinners. I don't believe God just turns on his wrath when someone dies, I believe it is something that is acquired through a person's life of sin...

    The Lord waits for us

I think it might bother him a bit! I don't know how he could be neutral towards it. To each their own though. I don't know how you couldn't see he's angry at sinners though from the verses I quoted two posts ago though, it's a literal threat from God for things that can be commonplace in our...

Is "receiving" Jesus a false manner of salvation?

Yes, this is precisely my problem with "receiving Jesus" - it is void of the gospel. From what I gather, if someone isn't believing in Jesus then they aren't saved and their action is futile. John 3:14-18 (King James Version) 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must...

    The Lord waits for us

Angry enough to want to scourge and chasten me, I believe, like it says in Hebrews 12:6. I think he is not pleased at sin.

    The Lord waits for us

I am basing my reasoning on that God's wrath abides on unbelievers as it says in John 3:36. But no, I don't think God or Jesus were actively angry when Jesus was doing his work on the earth (though at some times he certainly was, such as when he cleared the Temple), God was in him reconciling...

Is "receiving" Jesus a false manner of salvation?

I hope you're correct! She does not seem to receive me when I want to talk further about her beliefs though, she seems content in that she has "received Jesus". This causes me concern because I believe one must believe that he died for our sins, was buried, and was raised from the dead...

    The Lord waits for us

Sorry brother, I didn't mean to rain on your post. What you wrote was quite true, he does wait for us and is ready at a moment's notice for when our beliefs about his Son change, up until that point I imagine he is quite angry at us though, we are even enemies of his, but glory be to God we are...

Is "receiving" Jesus a false manner of salvation?

My suspicion is that it doesn't mean this at all. She was into new-age charismatic Christianity when she "received' him so I think she literally means that she received the Lord Jesus. How someone does this when he is not physically present with you is a mystery to me. I think you are just...

No person can come to Christ by their own freewill !

I don't understand the resistance to the statement that the Father must draw someone to the Son in order for them to come to him, Jesus said it with his own words. Maybe I am misreading people's sentiments though.

    The Lord waits for us

Yes, but I don't think he is patiently waiting with open arms while we sin and sin before salvation. The wrath of God abides on people who don't believe (John 3:36), so I think God is actually quite angry with people before they believe.
