Shall we sin that grace may abound?

Yes, and i wouldn't say that either. OSAS doesn't mean that. The Holy Spirit will discipline a wayward believer.

Shall we sin that grace may abound?

Well, that makes salvation a hire purchase agreement with no assurance of salvation. Where is Jesus's forgiveness of the stain of sin? Ineffectual?

Shall we sin that grace may abound?

Well there is a difference between those who have no fruit, and show a false pofession of faith, and those who are born again, but fall into waywardness. The wayward believer still has eternal life. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 KJV According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise...

Shall we sin that grace may abound?

2 Timothy 2:11-14 KJV It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: [12] If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: [13] If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself. Shall we sin that grace may abound?

It is possible for that to happen, to become unbelieving and still have salvation, but that is a wretched existence of consistent reproof from the Holy Spirit. They will incur discipline and correction from Him. They may even have their lives taken by God to stop their sin affecting others...

Shall we sin that grace may abound?

He isnt saying that. He is saying if we fail, Jesus's commitment to us remains. That's not someone who never follows Jesus.

    Obedience REQUIRED

Well, we are in fallen bodies. So, when indwelled with the Holy Spirit, we have fallen nature vs seeking after the Holy Spirit who dwells in the believer's spirit. The stain of sin is forgiven, a saved person is indwelled, a place in heaven is given freely. But that person is still human...

Let's Share the Blessings of Knowing Jesus

I don't agree with reformed theology, but there are different takes within it, so the stance on eternal salvation is very similar between my old and new church.

    Obedience REQUIRED

I don't follow reformed theology. Romans 6 talks about having grace and then why sin because of the grace given? Then it goes on to talk about the battle between flesh and the Spirit. Believers should go on to faithfulness in their walk, but the battle remains.

    Obedience REQUIRED

Well no one is sinless after being converted, but the Holy Spirit will spur His sons and daughters on, so usually you won't see someone who believed continue in persistent sinning.

    Obedience REQUIRED

Back to the beginning... the point of eternal salvation. That is believing on Jesus Christ. Admitting you are a sinner, headed for hell. Believing Jesus is God, that He can give you eternal life, forgive your sin. Then asking for salvation.

The hot one in a thread at the moment is 'be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect ' The context around this is God's perfect justice in dealing with man. Believers are admonished in this passage to be perfect in justice toward others. It's not about sinlessness. 'Perfect' as in a...

    Sin daily?

Have a look at the 'perfect tense' in grammar. Its not referring to being without blemish, but something that has been completed, mature. That's what scripture is referring to, going onto maturity and completeness in the faith.

    Sin daily?

Its not about good works. It's the fact that everyone is not perfect, but Jesus is perfect and His payment for sin is all sufficient. A believer seeks after following Jesus, because the believers stain of sin has been removed by Jesus. Not to attain righteousness or become sinless. That is...
