    The Gospel of Jesus Christ

Interesting phrases we use like 'I committed my life to Christ ' 'I made Jesus my Lord and Saviour' These MAY have led someone to salvation.. but the Bible actually says.. 'I believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is God, lived sinless and died and rose again.'

The Error is Baptism in Jesus name only for salvation

Right, so we are both talking about using the whole weight of scripture to measure whether water baptism is necessary for salvation. So whether it by believing or faith in Jesus to have salvation it is the same thing in different terms. The condition on NOT having salvation is always unbelief...

    Turning from sin

Well, the point of questioning 'turning from sin' being part of salvation.. is the fact that it IS about focussing on self instead of Jesus. So the person that is asked why they should be let into heaven may say 'because I turned from my sin'.. rather than 'because I believed on the Lord Jesus...

    Turning from sin

Well, I think we have the same position on believers getting discipline etc..not losing salvation...but coming at different angles!

    Turning from sin

I agree with you on most of this, except that John 15:6 could refer to believers incurring God's wrath (not loss of salvation) also..... since we see in Corinthians: 1Co_3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the...

The Error is Baptism in Jesus name only for salvation

Yeah.. being baptized 'for' the remission of sins.. First compare this with salvation verses all through the book of John. Such as John 3:16 and 5:24. Also Romans 10:9-10. No water baptism is mentioned, but salvation is given. Now going back to Acts 2:38.. what is the context? What is the...

    Turning from sin

I believe you can only 'turn from sin' after conversion. I believe people have the free will to believe or reject Jesus's offer of salvation. Not calvinism..but 'turning from sin ' isn't part of salvation. Knowing you are a sinner, deserving hell and believing on the Lord Jesus Christ...

    Turning from sin

Thanks for the post. I would think the 7 things you have there would be the right response to having eternal life, than the means of getting or keeping eternal life. Eternal salvation vs daily service

    Turning from sin

Well, see here is the thing, to make God "the authority and ruler of our every being and lives truly subitting to him and his will the all powerful all ruling God and king"... How is that related to: KJB: (Act 16:30) And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? (Act...

    Turning from sin

Yeah 'committing your life to Christ ' is another phrase that can be problematic in the same sense. Seen alot in gospel tracts. Because if after salvation.. someone gets caught in old ways.. someone will say 'never saved in the first place ' because they weren't fully committed.

    Turning from sin

I would be interested to know your thoughts on this. There are many gospel tracts that have in their salvation talk.. 'Turn from sin' and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. This is what they think 'repent' means. The thing about this is God Himself repented of what He was going to do in...

    Saved by faith alone?

I think you gotta be careful what you put as things a believer WILL be seen doing. Salvation is purely knowing you are a sinner, deserving hell, and believing Jesus is God, lived sinless and died and rose again. By believing in Him you have eternal life. So.. this may not be obvious to a...

What is the name of Jesus Christ?

As Magenta has posted..the names cover Old Testament and New Testament. Jesus existed pre-incarnate with the Father and Holy Spirit. So you see the name Yahweh..Jesus being the national God of Israel.. Immanuel.. when He took on the flesh of man. God with us. Alpha and Omega as the beginner...

    Changes to the Bible

We do have accurate English rendering of the original Hebrew and Aramaic. 5000+ manuscripts evidence that mostly harmonize with eachother. The copying and translating has been done meticulously. Have a look at the preface to the KJB.

    Changes to the Bible

Wait..those are ALL modern translations themselves. How about the KJB? Or others much older than those ones. Genesis 26:8 KJV - And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with...

What do these words mean in 1 Corinthians 15:3?

For all have sinned (missed the mark of perfection) and come short of the glory of God. People can't then come to God because of this, so Jesus Christ then died on the cross to pay the sin debt owed to us. His payment for our sin has given everyone a way to receive salvation from Him. Like...
