John Wesley/Methodist view on the thief on the cross

I suggest there are too many 'rules' in the question and way of thinking in general. If a person fills themselves with the love that Jesus showed us then everything will work out for that person.

John Wesley/Methodist view on the thief on the cross

Thank you for sharing your testimony. Once upon a time I would have put up a mental barrier to what you are saying. Not now though. I'm wondering if you had the chance to 'feel' anything. Did you feel something like limitless love or were you in a state of awe?

Is the Jewish God and gentile God the same?

One of the reasons I joined CC was to seek help with this topic. This is what I believe, if I have something wrong then please critique the statements: 1. Jesus has no evil in him, never did and never will. Naturally the same for God the Father. 2. If you read of a 'character' claiming to be...

    Rev; 22, 18 & 19

Stan Tanon made some remarkable discoveries regarding information encoded in Genesis. Stan appears to be genuine and is aware of the propensity for our minds to find patterns, even where none exist. In one of his videos he talks about how a very brief summary is given at the start and then that...

    Rev; 22, 18 & 19

Good point and thanks for the explanation. I haven't studied the Book of Revelations in earnest, just read over it with glazed eyes decades ago. I'm motivated to put in the effort now.

    Rev; 22, 18 & 19

Luke 9 51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem, 52 And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him. 53 And they did not receive him...

    Back to Christ

Firm I stand, with my back to Christ Not moving a muscle, not thinking twice Murder them I will not do Although they may cut me down He is not facing them alone again This I do solemly swear He is not facing them alone Because I am there

    Rev; 22, 18 & 19

I'm in agreement with your original statement. Wanted to add that some information contained in the scroll may be 'encoded' in a manner so that it isn't readily apparent. The author might have wanted to discourage anyone from modifying it because it would ruin the encoded information. Having...

    Rev; 22, 18 & 19

Sounds like the kind of school that I would have liked.

    Rev; 22, 18 & 19

"4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in...

    Why grace???

Thanks. I'm thinking that the grace that God has given us is a consequence of his love for us. The grace that we have for others grows as the Holy Spirit in us grows. What is grace? Still thinking about that... at least I'm thinking :)

    Tired of Sin

Was making a cup of tea and I recalled what else I was repenting. It was what was done to Jesus when he loved everyone. I'd known for a long time, but it really hit home at the time.

    Tired of Sin

Thanks. The poem is based on my own experience and a recent reading of the Gospel of John. If you read from where Jesus prevents the stoning of the woman onward. I could relate to the need for Jesus to send the Holy Ghost/Comforter. In brief, my personal experience was: - Had previously...

    Why grace???

Pottersclay, could you please provide us with your definition/understanding of what grace is. It will help me think about your original question.

    Why grace???

I think it is a natural consequence of increasing the Holy Spirit within us. Not sure what you mean by requirement? Maybe you mean growing in grace is a requirement for entering the pearly gates of Heaven?

    Tired of Sin

Please help me won't you let me in? I'm hungry and thirsty and tired of Sin. What is that under your arm? A bag of gold and a telephone? There's room for you here but not as you are. Go repent your sins and feed the poor. Repent I have, it's absolutely true. Listen while I repent to you...

    Spider's Web

Sequel: Bee Bee what have you done? There was a pesky pest, but I stung him in his side. They took him to his place of rest where he now abides. I'm hungry, said the spider with an uncomfortable grin. You will be my dinner, I'll put your carcass in the bin. No no, said the Bee, what have I...

    Spider's Web

I came across a bee trapped in a spider's web. He thought I was his foe and the spider his friend. No said he, when I said I'd set him free, don't do that! The spider promised me sweet nectar and a new top hat. Bee, I said, listen to me this will surely be your end But the bee being a stubborn...
