I think we need to have a sticky or something when you click on cc that says this is not a dating website. I see lots of ppl coming here looking for a soul mate but this is a discussion forum not a dating one lol

(reported on a news special last year; all across the nation )

interpol keeps a record of the perpetrators who visit (every day)

every chat room on the internet. every forum. no exception.

on a good day, the authorities/ local police/ task force
gets the information if "something happens".
sometimes just if a red flag goes off.

it helps keep the internet 'safe'... .... .... ....

kind of like quicksand....

I'm not too sure about that. This is an excellent site to really get to know someone. If you are looking for a loving Christian companion for life this is a good place to look. I really don't see how a sticky or whatever will deter anyone that is really lonely and looking for that special someone to share their life with.

HOW come?

The very moment you logged in appear an ad sponsoring the costs of CC and, in the other side, some people here have find real friends next to their doors.

In fact, many of those impersonating a profile coukd be any of them and, one of those days I was on one of these chats and, a "young lady" asked me to move to a chatroom who, according to "her" was empty and we could chat there. What for? I asked... For me, when I checked her age (in "her" profile) I knew she was a jailbait.

No!

Everything can be said publicly. If I used those PMs I was too naive: No secrets online. :p

Well! I don´t know if I matched-made you, but I received an answer from John:

Stamor.png

He winked at you, when he saw your picture, like this:

Is it honestly that big of a problem? It doesn't seem so to me.

Plus, what's wrong with someone giving their pitch? It's likely that they'll pitch and get no response. Or maybe they pitch, it intrigues someone, and a conversation is sparked from there.

The fact that some people are looking for a romantic partner doesn't automatically make them wicked, or pitiable, or weak. The vast majority of the planet will marry and have children. It's a normal desire.

Plus, we're meant to be Christians, right? There's no need for us to grind people down. Gentle reminders about the purpose of these boards are sufficient to redirect most people.

Who said anything about 'wicked, or pitiable, or weak?'. Now you're flinging accusations at people and putting words in peoples mouths.
I've seen mods point out to users that this is not a dating site, so what's the problem? As it is there are already frequent complaints from many users about being hit on regularly here. So i see no issue with ensuring that this site doesn't become a place for people to flock to to use as a place to meet people without having to pay for a dating site.

Yeah, no flinging occurred. I didn't accuse anybody of anything.

Barring banning people for hitting on others, engaging in romantic banter, or sending twitterpated messages to each other, there's nothing the site can really do to make sure that it never happens.

It just seems to me like harping says to single people, "We'll allow you to be here, as long as you don't act like a single person."
