I wish there was a forum for practising kindness and love toward each other, as in those are the rules of it. There is far too much debate or argument on this site. It is interesting that in the digital world, we appear so close, and yet most often so far away from each other, like we are all logging in from our own separate island. If we had come to meet in person, but then never saw each other, we would probably be much closer. There is no place online which defines these conditions. You are just free to be as superficial as you want to be. Text, compared to physical interaction and speech, is a very superficial language.
Like criticizing another country and going on and on about how bad it, and it's citizens are? And returning over and over to continue? Such a nice sentiment. So kind.
Seems you're just as guilty of breaking the rules. And apparently another user accused your word of being attacking as well. Is it not superficial to make blanket statements about millions of others simply because of where they live, while implying everywhere else is better?
Saying critical, judging words in a nice sounding tone doesn't make it not critical or judging. Just means you're attempting to mask your real heart. But it still shows through.
Hypocrisy is another problem on this site.

I have my good days and my bad days, maybe saying the wrong thing or judging too much. I don't hold that against myself, but it appears you do. Maybe you should let it go.

You are surprised that although you can completely ignore all of your own faults, other people get put off?

:)

You do realize how silly this sounds?

Let's rephrase this, for the comedic value.
"When I do all kinds of rude things, it doesn't bother ME at all... so what's YOUR problem?"

I previously asked if you can be humble, to which you gave no response. I'm always willing to meet people halfway, but you want to remain on your high horse. You can rephrase what I say, if you are looking to rally support from people around you to mock with you. Do you know how a bully operates? In exactly the same way. Do you stand by that characteristic of yours?

And I'm not saying you are a bully, but you show characteristics of a bully. Humble yourself.

mj007,
When you slander my country, and my friends, and you're rude to everyone... and I speak up about it... I don't think that qualifies me as a bully.

You already made it clear, in this very thread, that you happily ignore all your own faults...
maybe that's the problem.

Well I still love you dude, hope you can find some humble nature inside you somewhere. I don't happily ignore my own faults, you twisted my words. Like I said to Ugly, I have my bad days, and maybe on those days I might be judgemental or say the wrong thing. While someone might hold that against me, I'm not dwelling on it and holding it against myself. Everyone has bad days, I can't undo that. But whatever I say, you will probably twist my words, because that is who you choose to be. Maybe it's an internet thing, superficial confidence and arrogance. Maybe in your real life, just like all of us, you have things to deal with, life struggles. Now if we regard this side of ourselves, we are just human. I see that, what about you, or would you rather continue pointless arguing? What is the intention? To be right and have the last word? It is in that regard I advise you to humble yourself. But my guess is you probably don't like being told what to do. Lets see...

mjoo7, one more thing.

I'm not out to get you.
I'm really not.

However, if you go after people, and you initiate all kinds of trouble and conflict, and then someone calls you out on it...
you don't get to pretend to be a victim.

Now, you may get to do as you please, and create conflict, and then pretend to be a victim in "some places".
Sometimes liberal, weak minded idiots will tolerate this... it's especially prevalent in a lot of colleges right now.
But rationale adults won't put up with this.

Play nice, or people are going to call you out on it.

I've not been the one playing victim here. And neither do I create conflict or go after people lol But if that kind of behaviour is unacceptable to you, maybe you should have words with some of the people on here. They like to surround a person and hammer them because they have a different belief than them. I don't see you in those discussions, but I am sensitive to bullies on this site. I don't speak as being a victim of bullying here, I empathise with those who are, in a subtle sense. And yes about 95% of the time they appear to be American. I don't know why that is, you tell me. Bullys, defilers, pretty much the same thing.

It's not the same as if I want to go off on one about my opinion on pride for example. However, it's more positive if I keep it to myself, since there is nothing to gain from being vocal about it.

mjoo7,

Again, you are presuming a lot of authority which simply isn't allotted to you.
You don't get to create conflicts, and then give yourself the authority to demand the other party should "humble themselves" for disagreeing with you.

This is just silly.

It's just incredibly silly.

The first moment I ran into you in the forum, you were slandering and trashing my entire nation.
The WHOLE COUNTRY!
Wow.
Come on, that's a bit much.

Now, if you were having a bad day, and you want to play nice, and be friends, and get along... that's fine.
I'm willing to let it go.

I'm willing to forgive and forget, and put everything behind us, and let it go, and just start over.

However, if your intention is to go on creating conflict, and then pretending to be a victim when someone calls you out on it... then I'm going to continue calling you out on it.

I'm good either way.

I've said a few times now I was having a bad day. What is with the selective hearing, seriously! I do get your point about creating conflict. It wasn't really intentional, just voicing my opinion at that particular time. And it wasn't fruitful really. Although, I don't think Americanising this site with 'honouring the flag' and 'The Gun Thread' is appropriate for an international Christian community. No one talks about guns in our country, and if kids were here from my country, why do they need to hear about or talk about guns? I know you will stand by that, but understand why I have that opinion.

And I'm not saying to humble yourself in the authoritarian way you are referring to (are you an authoritarian? I kind of get that picture)

I'm saying, let's be humble, let's be kind. I haven't called you out on any of your insults, or exaggerations. I find it much easier to turn the other cheek, and wait for you to...

mj007,

I'm am now, for the last time, going to point out the specific problem.

- In this very thread where you "purport" to be calling for reconciliation, you really are not, and it's all just a manipulate bunch of nonsense.
- How can I say such a thing?
- Because in the very thread where you pretend to be calling for reconciliation, you manage to insult me over, and over, and over, and over!!!

It's extraordinary!

So, let's take a moment to parse this all out... I'm not going to bother doing this again with you, but we should at least do it once.

The Manipulative Nonsense:
While pretending to ask for reconciliation, what you actually do is INSURE the CONFLICT CONTINUES by denying all your previous actions, and attacking me with a tirade of insults:
1. Insult #1
- You accuse me of having "selective hearing".
2. Insult #2
- You accuse me of "insults"
3. Insult #3
- You accuse me of "exaggerations"
4. Insult #4
- You accuse me of being an authoritarian.
Your exact words, "(are you an authoritarian, I kind of get that picture)"
5. Insult #5
- You accuse my thoughts and intentions, and even my future actions I haven't even taken yet!
You do this by making absolute statements, like a psychic, about some egregious thing you somehow KNOW I WILL DO. The exact words are "I KNOW you will stand by that"... referring to something I NEVER EVEN SPOKE ABOUT.
5. Denial #1
- You virtually deny everything you said and did by just dismissing it as "having a bad day"
6. Denial #5
- You continue the denial by saying all the specific, quite intentional trash-talk, somehow wasn't intentional.
You voiced a great deal of trash talk about my country, which was very articulate, and very specific, and very thought-out, and thereby clearly intentional... and yet somehow, it "wasn't intentional".
Yes, you said all kinds of specific, intentional things... somehow... without any intentionality!
Amazing.
7. Denial #7
You claim to be "turning the other cheek" while you are IN THE VERY ACT of insulting me over and over, and verbally attacking!
Here you continue to deny any fault of any kind, quite deceitfully, by claiming to be "turning the other cheek" all the while you are INSULTING ME OVER AND OVER IN THE SAME BREATH!
In psychology, we would call this "classic, textbook, manipulation technique".
8. There is still more... but this is really making me tired.

So, there is the nonsense, and the manipulation.
* This is classic, textbook, manipulation technique.
1. Creating conflict, and then denying everything you did, and pretending to be the victim.
2. Claiming to be innocent, and "turning the other check", all the while, in the same breath, insulting and attacking.

This is the kind of deceptive, manipulative nonsense that NO ONE should tolerate.

This isn't a "mistake", or a "bad day"... this is indicative of classic manipulation behavior.

mj007,
I'm done here.
Don't expect me to care the slightest about your fake crocodile tears.

Actually this is Not intended to be a 'debate' website. This is why no forum exists catering to it. It is a purposeful choice, by the site owner, so as to not encourage non-Christians to come here simply to debate. Of course non-Christians are welcome to come here and join in chats and get answers to questions, but not to debate. This is first and foremost a 'fellowship' site. It even says 'live international fellowship' at the top of each page.
Seemingly 95% of non-believers that come here do so to start trouble. Some hide it well in the beginning, but their true intentions do reveal themselves eventually. This is the reason for bannings, not genuine people with genuine questions.
I'm a bit upset with you. I was going to mention that this suggestion has been given often before, but figured you'd do that, so why repeat?

And then... you didn't! What gives? lol

Are there apologetics websites? I guess there must be, I've just not run across any.
Christian Forums has apologetic, however it's real apologetic with rules and permission needed for another debate. (I'm assuming to avoid the same debate over and over again, which, btw, would happen, if we did have a for-nonbelievers' argument forum on here.)

Whenever I see Willie's pic, I have to open the post.
I see that look in his eye, and I think,
"Gosh, I wonder what he's gotten himself into today."

: )
Woodworking. At least, that's what I picture him getting into every day. lol (Have you ever seen his birdhouses? WOW!)

Humble yourself, because Max is one of the more humble people on this site. Meanwhile, I didn't even know you knew "humble."

Her: The only thing that bulge more than your eyes is your stomach. Can you see any of the ground with that gut? Maybe with those chameleon eyes. Your hair is atrocious. Are you ever going to wash it or comb it? You're breath makes vultures fly away and vomit. Your feet could fill an entire army with that toe jam. You couldn't hit the broad side of a barn if you were two inches away. I've seen dust bunnies think better than you, and your wife makes you look pretty and seem smarter.

Him: What? Are you kidding me? Who are you to insult me like that?

Next day.

Her: I was having a bad day, you big tub of lard.

Him: Well, okay then. Obviously you didn't mean any of that so let's move on.

Seriously, dude? Telling someone you're having a bad day, (and apparently it's been a bad day for you since last February), really doesn't dismiss the insults.

And continuing to passive-aggressively turn it back to the people you insulted in the first place to keep insulting them doesn't convince anyone you ARE humble or loving.

Common sense: 101.

I was just going to say I am still waiting for an Evangelism forum, to discuss ways to turn our hearts to the Great Commission, but I seem to have stumbled into a rather angry debate, so I am out of here!
