I liked the nightly bible studies but understand why they were discontinued since most of the cc staff are volunteers and its spiritually draining.

Our church does 6 week bible studies meeting once a week on topics/ books of the Bible. The person teaches for 15-20 minutes and gives about the same amount of time for questions and discussion.

There is a "simple Bible" chat room (haven't been in chat in a while) but most people don't go because there is no audience for their show.

I do remember going into Bible study chat room and someone wanted to practice their English skills by reading the Bible out loud. I thought that was pretty edifying. I was disappointed when others kept stealing the mic to discuss topics like movies and what they ate for dinner, but its the internet.

I think a few people left the Bible study room to another room so they could continue their reading of the Bible. sometimes its easier to just move rooms then try to fight for the mic.
I believe it was Joshua who once said, "...as for me and my house, we will stick to the forums.":)

Also I like a good bible discussion, sharing back and forth etc. But are some allowed to preach in here? Some talk like they are a pastor or giving a sermon?

I don't want to follow people who are not real pastors?
I think you may need a special room for those who are not real pastors, but would like to play one on TV. You might actually get me on chat that way:)

I would love there to be an actual "Bible study" in there with a specific time like 5pm PST or whatever, since at my home church they break for the entire summer except for the Women's Bible morning Bible study which doesn't work for me cuz i happen to be a female that goes to a job during the daytime. That would be really cool if someone could arrange that...leaders could even take turns to prevent burnout. I miss going to a Bible study in the real world and would love going to one in the cyberworld to fill in the gaps my own church has. (they do this "break" during the winter holidays too) I'm hungry for teaching besides Sunday morning!

ive been here for a few months now and USE TO SPEND the majority of my time (4-5 hrs per day) in this Bible study room-
the last few weeks have been so harsh at picking people a part my spirit within me has told me its beginning to become corrupted, they constantly are slandering human beings and other religions instead of LOVING PEOPLE -the attitude usually is NEGATIVE and arguing all the time- I may just stop all together going in there- I may end up not coming here at all soon- I thought about supporting this sight financially but Im not sure if I am willing to do that now- seeing and hearing what goes on I am very disappointed actually- Are we not to be LIKE JESUS and WANT HIS character in US? too many people here compete to be right---compete to correct others when they dont even do it properly "with Love" Its actually sad that so many here talk and act in their flesh MORE than allowing the Holy Spirit to lead their minds and or mouths. really sad--I pray them daily-

It happened again? Someone turned the lounge into the bible study room. I went into the bible room and someone was talking about what they were going to eat. Nothing about the bible? Why have a bible room if we have one in the lounge?

I am doing a bible study alone, led by a study on the net. It is a fascinating study of the book of Ezra, I simply yearn for someone to talk the study over with. On other studies I searched my church, my neighborhood, my family, even advertised, but each study is so in depth that absolutely no one will join me.

People say we fight on cc, but a bible study done alone with no feed back avoids fights, and I would rather the "fight" of different minds. It takes different minds working together to help us think things through.

Surely, with the wide circle of Christians world wide, if we had a study room, others would join in this in depth study! I am a decrepit 89 year old ex housewife and mother with only one year of college. Yet I am told over and over this study is only for intelligent people, and they can't measure up to a very elderly broken down old lady!!

I don't know, i've been in the Bible Study room and if you aren't a regular or have a mic you don't exist. Not much different than Lounge.

Sometimes the bible is full of 9/11 conspiracy nuts. They won't talk about anything else and they hardly mention God or Jesus.

If this is what they live for 24/7 there are plenty of conspiracy sites they can chat on. Please go there.

Yesterday they targeted a conservative Christian because she did not agree with all their crazy conspiracies. In fact a lot of the room was against this person, maybe even some ex mods.

This is why some people don't like the bible room. This is what makes it lame.

I never ever go into the B.S. (bible study) room UNLESS I am in search of a moderator. Just like the bible discussion forum, the bible study room can be a rather scary place..lol :)
