If one specific person is annoying on voice chat, and you want to stay up with the rest of the conversation... but you DON'T want to listen to bad guitar playing, continually angry or controlling personalities. It would be awesome if we were able to click that 'user name' and devoice them instantly.

Perhaps a 'ignore' button? lol

*its just a thought... for the sake of my sanity, grin :)

There is an ignore button, however it is only for private messaging.

eg: if you do not wish to receive private messaging from a particular user, you can open up their chat box and click on the icon ! (it's in a blue circle I think) and that will ignore all messages from that user.

However, as far as I am aware, there is no option to ignore particular peoples messages or audio in the room.

I don't even know if this would be possible...I'm sure Robo could tell us though (maybe a programming thing).

Okay disregard that lol.

There USED to be a blue circle with the ! inside it in the chat box. There isn't anymore. I think now, the same way you go thru control panel to edit all the options, you can also ignore people. There is an ignore list. If you choose to put people on the ignore list though, it will ignore ALL correspondence from them. So, you won't be able to see their forum posts, messages they leave on your profile, chat mail they send you... NOTHING!

But some people might like that option. Anyway, it's in the edit options in control panel :)

LOL... Ira, yes I've tried using the ignore option in the control panel to see if it would help in chat, it doesn't. It doesn't have any affect in the chatroom at all. 'Most of the IRC and Java Chat Platforms have the individual 'devoice or ignore' option for a user, in fact this is the first program I've ever seen in my experience that hasn't had one. A bible bot would be awesome too, if Robo was able to find one. It would help in witnessing and especially useful in the Bible Study room.

p.s I love your never argue with an idiot signature! lol (it's so true) Thanks for replying! :)

Yes, this doesn't have the individual ignore button as you have seen other places, because this site is neither IRC or Java :)

There has been a bible bot in the past (albeit briefly) as a test run. I'm not sure what Robo will decide to do about that for future. It is possible, but with further programming and whatnot, but there's alot more to consider with things like that also.

I guess the ignore thing is something Robo may be able to look into? He will be able to tell us if it's possible or not, but like anything all of theses requests take time and money to implement, both of which we are short on at the moment.

But it is a worthwhile idea :)

You have the option of turning off the voice and video chat before you enter the room . if you click you donot want to use voice or video before entering chat you get text only.

Thanks Raeshelle, that helps Leilaii in what she asked. But, I think it would be hard to follow the topics and conversations in the room if everything was turned off but text. I cant understand why anyone would want to do that, unless they were chatting at work. lol I'm still hoping Robo can come up with a 'devoice' option on individual chatters without blocking out everyone.

Until then, my mute button on my laptop is my best friend :)
Blessings and Thanks again for the input!
