Only way for the study to work would be to have a curriculum or a weekly schedule of what is to read. But then if those interpretations do not sit well with others then they'd go off on the thread and ruin it, or give it insight, and then it'd be a Bible Discussion Numero Dos.

Could you do that today? Could ANY of us, since we now think we know something, and aren't just clean slates?
I wasn't a clean slate with the polyglots. I'm not a clean slate now. If Christians can't do that, then I question if they've ever mature in the Lord.

Okay. Grace. Where and to what degree God is gracious with me is my concern. I thank God for His grace and mercy. I seek or rely daily on His grace. That's part of living a life that seeks to follow in the steps of Jesus. I fall. I fail. I am forgiven. I follow.

If He's not gracious, He's not forgiving.

Don't know all the controversy. Don't know JP's teaching on grace.

The bible is clear, however, grace is essential to salvation.
Speaking of staying on topic. How about staying on topic here? Willie isn't shy. If you want to go with the whole JP line of question, Willie has, indeed, done a post on Prince a little wile ago. Feel free to resurrect that, instead of cross-topicking this.

Why a curriculum? I'd go with the tried and true. Start a post indicating what book you want to study with others, see if anyone else is interested, and then work together to figure out how much to tackle in X amount of time. It's not like it hasn't ever been done online before. There have been AOL groups, Yahoo Groups, and probably umpteen other groups I've never heard of. (I gave up figuring out the latest social networking trend about when FB started its blahness. lol) The only difference is this is a Christian site, so if some schmoe comes along to disrupt a Christian flow, RobOp and the mods have absolutely no problem slamming their bums on the other side of the door.

Kind of why I thought this would be an easy sell.

Lynn, I agree with you on the real BIBLE Study forum..amen! However, as you already know, today's CHRISTIANS want to dump their issues on the world to solve. Our forums are full of 'bipolar, depression, sad marriages, boyfriend/girlfriend issues, what is your favorite...., and Speak your mind endless scenarios. Sadly...this will never end. I remember way back in the late 1980's in the old AOL days of Christian chatrooms...same old thing..same issues, same mindset. We are doomed for this. There is only a small limited number of Christians who truely want to seek, study and APPLY what the BIBLE leads them to do. You will also find this problem existing in CHURCHES!

It's really a serious hurdle. Could you manage in a forum where everyone else KNEW the Rapture was a Biblical fact and truth? And were dead set on discussing that?

Willie-T....I personally enjoy your 'take' and responses on all the above topics! You are a breath of fresh air to an otherwise boring, endless line of internet chatter that clutters these forums. I know you speak from experience and your heart. You make it FUN in here!!!!!

In March 2014, I started this round of studying the Bible by reading five different Dead Guys for each passage starting with Gen. 1 and I'm working my way through. (And when I have questions they don't answer, I go online looking for the answers.) I'm in Numbers 9. How much rapture stuff is found any where close to what I'm studying? I honestly don't see a problem there.

As for those hitting NT books (or those thinking OT prophets are all about rapture), when that section gets hit, each person brings what they learned about it from their studying. It's a free-for-all on what you bring, hopefully some discussion, but then move on to the next section. Seriously, if the only thing someone brings to the study is rapture stuff, then they're really going to have to work to prove an entire book is rapture stuff. Even rapture folks can't do that or they wouldn't keep doing bits and pieces from different books. I'm happy to disagree, (as you well know lol), but I'm not sticking to one section to endless debate the endless debates. If people do, then I suspect that study dies just because people are endlessly debating past what's there.

I wouldn't mind an ability worked in to kick endless debaters out of the group, but that really is entirely up to RobOp and whoever operates this site to decide. I'm able to provide suggestions. I have no power (nor do I want it), to make RobOp "fix" something according to my preferences.
