Limit new threads to no more than 5 a week (7 days) by any given member...............
God knew before the foundation of the world that there would be members who create many, fairly irrelevant threads per day...perhaps He even predestined them to do so, who are you to fight against the Lord?

Well, what has been discussed here seems to be the people that do start 5-10 threads in a day.
Often not with a real message, but with a sentence intended to spark provocation rather than good debate,
and they are often hit- and run.

There is also the problems with bots registering (here or elsewhere) and flooding the forums.
A limit in threads pr day/ week would reduce such things. I.e. all these black magic threads that appear every now and then.
My suspicion is that 88 was the inspiration for this thread, since he started a lot of threads in a short period of time. I enjoyed them at first, but when he never responded to my posts, I stopped reading them. It is annoying when someone deposits a huge number of threads over a period of time. Still, I think it would be harmful to be TOO restrictive.

I don't think it's such a bad idea to limit threads. One thing that I've noticed in the BDF ( particularly as of late) are so many new threads that are getting less than 10 responses. I can't help but wonder if there are far too many threads being started by the same members with little to no effort to keep the discussion going on these threads. It seems counter productive to start so many threads in such a short time. If the forum gets flooded with an abundance of new threads ( many on the same topic) the chances of each OP being properly explored and discussed greatly diminishes. If someone really does have wisdom or good ideas to share they need to have patience and give members time to see the thread and respond. Members are in different time zones and some may not log in every day. If they create too many threads in a short period, the threads will get buried and forgotten.

A new commandment I give thee, thou shalt not make more threads than thy posts or ye shall suffer the wrath of the mods ;b

Being a good and faithful capitalist... I will sell my 5 threads to the highest bidder each week.

I may even builder a website for brokering other people's unused threads.

: )
Psst...I need 25 BDF threads on the double, cash up front, what you say, buddy?

What would happen If no one responded to threads constantly to one line statements and rare return to the thread to at least show Interest?
