When looking up a name in the chat members directory there is tthe option of clicking on the letter of the name you are looking for. Once there, the names are in alphabetical order. Some letter catagories have alot of names to them and if you are searching a name that happens to be towards the back it can be fustrating and time consuming to search for. I suggest a box where we can type in the name once in the correct letter catagory or perhaps just at the directory. That way you can type the first few letters of the name and get in the ballpark instead of flipping from page to page until finding the right name. Get it? If you dont, look up a name like still waters. You go to the "S" catagory but dont know which page it's on, so now you have to go from page to page. ....Just a suggestion.

if i understand you correctly, ...
there is a box that says

Search Members


and when you click it, you can type the nick
and it's 1still_waters hheehe, so you cant find it under 's' hehe
