A Testimony about My Battle with Sexual Sin

Hi, I am William Powell. I was born into a Christian family. My parents were foreign missionaries in Colombia for 25 years and Peru for 2 and a half years. Through that time I went to the the church on Sundays in Peru. I didn't know if I knew Christ or didn't. But I realized that singing the songs about God, reading His Word, and praying to Him didn't make me a Christian. So in Peru, a missionary family called Fullers were having family devotions, right there I decided to follow Christ in 2001. After a few years in the United States, I got baptized in the Holy Spirit and emerged as a new individual. But alas that is when my struggles began. I encountered a high school student looking at a pornographic cover and then all of a sudden a rage began and I took from his hands and ripped apart. Now, I realized I shouldn't have done it but it just came over all of a sudden. After that someone told me about Redbook, thankfully I never tried it. But at the age of 16 I became enslaved the pornography especially the Japanese, hentai porn stuff. One time I got off it for three months, then failed. The next time for 7 days and then failed. Now, I have been off it since March 17. Recently, failed again but off it once again.

May Jesus bless you. My friend, you are blessed. You remind me of Josiah, the King. For many reigns there had been wickedness in Israel. And when he reigned he destroyed the high places, the altars that Israel had set up to foreign gods. I have struggle against addiction too , and I know one thing, Satan wants our faith. He wants to take sin and turn it into condemnation, but we can repent right away, and the Lord will wipe it clean. And this is what Satan hates. It makes him angry that the blood of Jesus has so much power. This is how Jesus overcame on the cross.

If you want to, look at the reign of the kings from Solomon on. Or you can even start with David, or Samuel. Look and see if the people of Israel didn't behave much like we do after we have found salvation in Christ. Well, may Jesus bless you my friend. Jesus overcame all, ask him to help you.
