It was many years ago, and my aunt, who I will call Susan here, had just been diagnosed with a virulent
form of cancer. She would have been about 43 yrs. old then, and she had a husband and a couple children, my
cousins who I liked and still like. The doctors did not have the chemotherapy that is available today, but they
had to try something and they used radiation therapy on Susan into the chest area. Later after it was all done she
was tested again and there was no good news. They had detected it going to the brain. She was given pain meds and sent
home because there was nothing else they could do.
Uncle brought Susan home but she knew where things stood and that there was no hope. One day he drove her past
a cemetery and she "flipped out" by crying and screaming...because she knew full well that soon she would be in one of
those herself. It was so sad.
Susan believed in the Lord Jesus, and prayed like crazy and went to churches that were greatly into healing. It did not seem
to work, until one day she was in prayer again and she heard an audible voice which she told us said "Be still and know that
I am God." It seemed to be an appropiate message for her and probably for anyone. The message seemed to calm Susan and
her faith was MUCH improved. That cancer was forgot, and Aunt Susan lived for years afterward, about 28 more years and got
to see her children married and got to see all of her grandchildren. Perhaps the real miracle happened when she finally
did pass away, and there were no tantrums or protests from her. Thank you, Jesus for having mercy on her and for having
mercy on us!!!
