Once, I had two lamps. They were new but looked very old- fashioned. One was broken, the other had a slight chip yet it was special to me. I used it night after night to read before bed. At some point, the switch didn't work and I had to get out of bed to unplug it. Two nights in a row, i fell asleep and it was unplugged. I live alone. I had a new bed at the time with the raised feature. I KNEW when I got out of bed. I stil had the book on my bed. so, after a couple of these occurances, I questioned my minister. His reply, "Angels work for the Lord to protect us, but I think it's best to get a new lamp and not push it." I did and all is well there.

Recently, i attempted the Night shift. It went well, for the most part. But the drive home, a fair distance away, was a bit harrowing at the time. Three VERY close calls, one with deer, one with a semi, and one with the ditch reminded me of the lamp situation. I decided not to push it further and i now work in the afternoon....closer to my home. Praise God for his interventions.

What did you know when you got out of bed?

What occurrences?
I think she was saying that the lamp was unplugged when she awoke, yet she knows she did not get up and unplug it, or the book would have been on the floor. Or, if she'd gotten up before sleeping to unplug it, the book would be on the night stand. Therefore, it was divine intervention that unplugged that lamp!
