One night the Spirit of God woke me up.
Telling me to go to this town and this street.
It was 3AM.

So I put on my clothes and headed out.
I arrived at the spot. It was a little more then a dogleg of a street between two main roads in a small town that diffident meet up properly.

I drove up and I drove down and it was as you would expect for 3 something AM in a small town, Nothing!
I pulled over bowed my head and started my complaining prayer to God.
How am I supposed to believe and follow if it all come to nothing?
I opened my eyes and just before I lifted my head I could see through the steering wheel and under some something across the road that previously obstructed my vision a man sitting in a chair in front of his door.

So I put my had on my mouth and said I was sorry and grabbed one of the tracts I had. I had made my own a while back thinking it better to be coming from what is in me. Then I climbed out of the car and headed out to greet the man.

I was still kind of weak and not near as strong in faith as I am now. But I managed to walk up to him and hold out my obviously home made tract and say this is for you.

He took the bit of paper and looked at the front of it and he face changed and he looked at me and said
“How did you know?” How did I know what? He pointed to the title of the tract which said “NEW HEARTS FOR OLD” “How did you know I needed a new heart? My Doctor told me I have only a few months to live.” I said I did not know.

I don't recall for sure if I told him how God woke me up and told me to come to this spot or how I prayed out of frustration and only then saw him when my head was bowed.

It can be a scary thing when it all gets that real.
I do know I made a quick exit having done what I was told.
I never found out the fate of the man who needed a new heart.
If he found it in God before his time was up or not.
I guess perhaps on the other side I will find out.
I wish I was a bolder stronger man then to have stayed with him.

I know God did.

We all think we know something, but when things like this start to happen in your life, what we profess to believe and the power of God we think we know is displaced in the shock of it all.
