RFKC- Royal Family Kids Camp
It's a camp for abused or neglected children , ages 7-11, to be loved and hear God. Unlike most camps, this one is completely free.
The week finished today and my two campers went home happily. They had been dreading it for two days. The object of the camp is to show them love. And man did Jesus do me a big one this week.
They learned about Esther and Daniel,opened up in worship, and did NOT want to go home.
At the end of camp, they write "Dear God" letters. They made me cry at the meeting when the campers left.
One accepted Jesus into their heart in the letter. Another said they would stand up for God whatever it takes - even if it means becoming like Esther or Mordecai. One said "I trust you, Jesus, no matter what happens." Even the meanest one at the camp said "I love worshiping God. I really felt love this week. I love you Jesus" My girls are determined to go home and share Jesus with their family, knowing they have a purpose on this earth to love people.
Some of these kids go back to foster homes that don't care about them or are abusive or negligent. Some go back to parents that used to treat them bad, but have somehow gotten custody again and are being "watched". They mature too quickly. They've seen too much. They hurt.
RFKC is an international organization. It's such a blessing to work. It taught me more compassion, gentleness, and care. Every word and every action in love toward a child makes a difference. This drives me to teach.
