I just want to thank God for my son tonight.
Some of you may know and some of you may not know but my son, Eli was born at 25 weeks and 4 days into my pregnancy. The doctors weren't really sure why I went into labor but I did and they couldn't stop it. Right before I turn 24 weeks I was put in the hospital for early labor and 12 days later I gave birth to my son. While I was in the hospital still pregnant with him the doctors told me that he had a very slim chance of surviving. They actually told me if I give birth to him, he'd be born dead and they would have to try to revive him. My Superman came out crying and it was beautiful and I thank God for that. Eli was in the NICU for 87 days. I did not get to hold him until he was 28 days old. When he was 9 days old he caught two deadly infections. Doc told me "You need to get funeral arrangements ready because he is not going to make it". The doctors couldn't get the infections to go away. The medicine was not working. We prayed and prayed and the infections were gone the next day.
Eli overcame 2 deadly infections, level 4 brain bleed, surgery to put a VP shunt in his head, seizures, ROP (eye disease that makes them go blind), muscle problems, chronic lung disease (they told me he'd be sent home with oxygen and he didn't need it), and he's had 3 surgeries that he's come out of with no complications.
On January 6th of this year I was able to bring my baby home. He has 5-9 aptments every week since coming home. A few months ago the doc told me that he was slow and far behind because he wouldn't sit, roll over, play with toys, smile, or laugh.
I just want to thank God today because 3 months ago my baby boy finally started smiling, laughing and playing with his toys, fingers and toes. He is such a happy baby.
Well, 2 weeks ago I got bad news from the doctor telling me that he was still way too far behind because he still can't sit by his self, roll over, eat baby food or hold his own bottle.
Doctor said because he can't do these things, they are sending him to a specialist and getting him help because they think there is something mentally wrong due to the brain bleed he got. (He is 9 1/2 months old now)
I was very worried..
We have yet to see the specialist...

1 week & 3 days ago, Eli started rolling over!
2 days later he started trying to sit up by his self (hasn't been able to get it yet but getting close)
5 days ago Eli held his bottle for the first time by himself and has been doing it every day since.
Because of this the doctor is no longer sending him to the specialist. Said there's nothing mentally wrong if he's able to do it.
I just want to thank the Lord above for that. For taking such good care of my baby boy, healing him and making him strong!

I'd also like to ask for prayers for him..
He still can't eat baby food. We've been trying for 3 months and he still can't. He has to have a swallow test done. Please pray God's will, will be done. That he will start eating soon. Please and thank you
