Many people try to make themselves rich so that they can draw in other to trust them with their substance:
• “And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, so that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.” (Mat 6:5).
• “But they do all their works in order to be seen of men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments.” (Mat 23:5).
Many people sham to be very spiritual. They engross people…
• “promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he also brought into bondage.” (2Peter 2:19).
And don’t think that all of them are hypocrites. As the workers of iniquity (Mat 7:21-23), many are sincerely cheated, saying: “I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing”. However they didn’t know that they are wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked:” (Rev 3:17).
As the goats of Matthew 25:41-46, they can’t see Jesus in the humble and meek people:
• “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;” (2Cor 4:7).
The characteristic of those who are really rich before the Creator is that their root can produce their own fruit (Prov 12:12):
• “as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing all things.” (2Co_6:10).
So, have a good week in Christ Jesus seeing through what everybody feigns to be.
