Hi everyone,
I have been thinking about this for a few weeks... what does everyone think, as a Christian, of the concept of love at first sight, or an instant connection with someone? I'm not so sure about love at first sight, chat, or conversation... I do know I've felt almost instantaneous connection with people at times (whether as friends or as a possible romantic interest) and I know that Paul speaks about kindred spirits in the New Testament... But, I also always keep in mind Jeremiah 17:9 (the heart is deceitful above all things) and know that we can't just go on feelings alone, no matter how strong or real they may seem.
It has also been my experience that I have sometimes bonded with someone very quickly for the wrong reasons (for example, we were going through the same kinds of struggles but God was trying to push me past that point and the other person was not willing to go any further... so, I chose to wrongly hold on, and hanging on to that person held me back as well.)
What has been your experience, and what do you think?
