Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
Christian groups in my home state have spent a great deal of money on commercials against gay marriage, but not a tenth of that money on fighting heterosexual sexual immorality, idolatry, greed, drunkenness, or slander. The divorce rate in this state is attrocious, but nobody's talking about protecting marriage between heterosexuals through legal measures. It's all about what to do about the gays.
Also, Christians make things up about homosexuals when it serves their purposes. For instance, while chatting today, I was told that all homosexuals argue that homosexuality is from birth, but just because we're gay doesn't mean we've forgotten about the nurture side of nature vs. nurture. Within the gay community there are a lot who point to post-genetic influences to determine sexual preference. There are a lot of us who don't think it matters as it concerns the morality of homosexuality; i.e. it's either permissible or not, regardless of where it came from.
It's difficult to confront these lies. When I did, for instance, it became personal. It wasn't rude, but it was definitely personal. I'd eventually find my way, etc.
I'm giving up. I for a while believed that Christians don't hate the person and that they view all sins in the same manner. This is a convenient excuse to continue propagating a societal, not religious, prejudice. When you guys are spending as much time on the greedy as us, we might buy it. But when we log in and the first thing we hear is impressions of effeminate men, well...
