1 John 5:13
King James Version

13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

This is a very valuable verse in the Bible, it tells you exactly what you need to do to have assurance that you have eternal life. To "believe on the name of the Son of God". What exactly does this entail? I am not an expert in this language but I would assume it means to believe that Jesus died for >our< sins, was buried, and rose from the dead, amongst other things if it's the case. Would anything else be included in this? Or did I include too much?

John 17 verses 2-3 ~ You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him. Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, Whom You have sent.

Acts 4 verse 12 plus 1 Timothy 2 verse 5

Yeah, "eternal life" actually has a simple definition:

John 17:3 "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

Read the ending of Mark and Luke that instructs to Pray in the NAME of Jesus, Heal in the NAME of Jesus, Ask in the NAME of Jesus, Lay Hands on people in the NAME of Jesus, Cast out Demons in the NAME of Jesus, Command in the NAME of Jesus, Rebuke in the NAME of Jesus......... basically do all spiritual things in the NAME of Jesus.

That is using the NAME of the Son of God in proper Biblical context.

You did not include what "these things" refers to, which is 1John 4:8-5:12.

God simply loves us all, Jesus and Father as Won for us all is all needed to see new, as long as one will not quit belief to see as in Col 1:22-23 tells me at least.
Believe, God, receive from God and be new in God's love for us all. no more accusing and excusing, I see for me at least to not do what have done that was not good for my soul or anyone else's either
Once I gave up and saw God loves us all as in 1 John 2:1-2 forwarding to verse 27 too. I stopped the accusing and excusing myself as did as if were better than some others and quit striving to be like others I saw and thought as better than me. Received by God through God, perfect Son Jesus I am reconciled \along with everyone else whether another believes God or not, matters, mattered not anymore, now just love all as called in truth, thank you
