Lemme get this straight..... The RCC established this law 900 years ago because of economic reasons? They purposely voted for this because they didn't want to give the home to the widow of a faithful minister? Just for money reasons? I can believe that, considering for years they kept their bibles in Latin so that everyone would be 100% dependent on the clergy & keep them stupid from the truth.

Bibles were in Latin because before the printing press they were hand written and incredibly expensive. The only people that could afford them had an education and knew Latin. Latin is better for conveying the Greek than any modern European languages.

Not only was it used in church, but also at universities, courts etc. That 'Latin is better for conveying the Greek than any modern European languages' (sic) is nonsense. The syntax of the greek, for instance, is much more similar to that of english than it is to that of latin.

I am not sure who told you that, but they have no idea what they are talking about. No one that understands either language, much less both, would say that. One of the first things you notice when learning Greek or Latin is how different it is (as you say, in syntax) than English. Latin is very similar in its structure and grammar to Greek that many of the major concepts and even grammatical rules apply.

If you have an understanding of NT Greek (and even better if you understand Latin) and want to defend that position, I would love to hear why on Earth you think that way.

The terms you are using a bit unclear on a discussion about language. I think what you are trying to say is that Latin is a language that uses declension, which biblical Greek does as well. Latin and Greek are extremely similar in terms of how sentences are arranged (or I should say, not necessarily arranged).

Greek and Latin use declension, which makes them incredibly similar and difficult for those of use that use modern European languages. For those that do not know what declension is, it's not small thing. In English we arrange words in a sentence to express their relationship between each other. In Latin and Greek, the endings of words are changed to indicate their relationship within the sentence. Unfortunately it is not as simple as adding a "-us" to a word, the rules are very complex.

This is just my personal opinion, so I beg to differ with the OP title: that only 2% of priests are pedophiles!! I think the number is alot higher than the catholic church wants us to know about. And it's not only the CATHOLIC priests who are pedophiles, either. Several pastors and priests from ALL religions are pedophiles. If we were to round up every pedophilic priest on earth, I guarantee the percentage of them would be alot greater than a meager 2%!!! JMO
