Pauline theology on heart purity:
Ro 4:5:
"To the man who does not work, but trusts God, who justifies the wicked (no heart purity).
his faith is credited as righteousness."
Ro 4:16:
The promise comes by faith so that (intention) it may be grace.
Ro 5:1, 9:
We have been justified through faith, by his blood.
Ro 5:8:
God reconciled us to him when we were his enemies (no heart purity).
Ro 5:10:
When we were God's enemies (no heart purity), we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son.
John 3:6-7“That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

Elin misrepresents Paul by focusing on depravity and then alludes to the legal exchange she believes in.
The truth though is that the children of God are not depraved, they are pure in heart. Elin cannot and will not address that subject. People of her ilk will select a bunch of verses and focus on "no heart purity" (as evidenced above) and then appeal to "faith" in the "finished work of the cross" in which they find the legal exchange doctrine (which cloaks the "no heart purity"). Their doctrine is void of manifest heart transformation in salvation and that is why they don't mention such a transformation at all. Instead they will argue in favour of depravity like Elin just did.

1Ti 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
Love out of a pure heart, a good conscience and faith unfeigned is not "no heart purity."
Jesus taught...
Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
God requires MANIFEST heart purity not some kind of cloak where He pretends a wicked person is pure.
Paul wrote this...
Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
God justifies the wicked in the sense that He forgives PAST WICKEDNESS on the condition that the individual has forsaken their rebellion and walk by a faith that works by love.
Imputed righteousness is FAITH being reckoned as righteousness.
om 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Rom 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Rom 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Faith works by love.
Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
Gal 5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Faith is a work with power because it is an active principle as opposed to a passive principle.
2Th 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
This is why faith purifies the heart.
Act 15:9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
A pure heart is the opposite of a wicked heart which is why David associates the forgiveness of sins with a heart that has no guile or deceit.
Psa 32:1 A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Psa 32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Faith has an associated walk...
Rom 4:10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.

No walk = no faith.
No walk means no faith because faith is DOING. Jesus preached HEAR and DO.
Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
The false teachers preach "hear and trust" and that the doing comes later. Yet the doing is always only PARTIAL because they believe in "sin you will and sin you must" due to they perceiving sin being in the flesh (Original Sin doctrine).
My focus is always on "hear and do" and how it produces "heart purity." Jesus died for the purpose that we die with Him whereby we approach God via His blood in repentance and faith and are transformed inwardly and made pure whereby we can serve God in an acceptable manner having had the guilt of our past sins purged. In other words, we are given a fresh start so as to walk in the light blameless with the faith of Christ, a faith that works by love. Our hearts are pure. The energy of God works through us effectually for we are no longer in rebellion whereby we used to scorn the grace of God.
No heart purity = No salvation.
It would be helpful if you explained, gave the meaning of, the Scriptures presented,
remaining true to their words and to the context.
