“and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.”

Of course. Holding fast the faithful Word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. (Titus 1:9)

Sound doctrine comes from "the faithful Word" -- the Word of God. And doctrine (teaching from the Bible) determines attitudes and behavior.

yeah I agree we need to let what we’re learning from the gospel become what we believe and act in , it’s a process

the gospel specifically is where our doctrine is

View attachment 250408
of course it’s related to false doctrine that’s what it all comes down to either accepting the truth from God

“Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Or as those scriptures tell us we can refuse the truth and accept lies about God from people who reject what he said that is aided and abetted by this

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All Satan needs to do is convince someone that what Jesus said is the truth that saves souls isn’t true , if he can do that he’s won. On the other those who stick with the doctrine Jesus taught and said is eternal life , they have victory

It’s all about this

“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:22, 24‬ ‭

satan understands that’s true and wants to keep us away from accepting it because it is true it’s life and death to believe or refuse to believe the gospel

So of course brother every issue any believer has is false doctrine

What about the majority of the New Testament? What is that? Is it doctrine or something else?

Perhaps let's begin with the word doctrine itself. What is doctrine? But please feel free to answer the other question about teh NT as well

“What about the majority of the New Testament? “

the New Testament is the gospel I’m not sure what you mean all the apostles were preaching the gospel

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that’s what the New Testament is then carrying out that ordained commandment the whole New Testament is coming from the gospel

“and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:46-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Im nOt sure what your asking the gospel is like Moses law was to the ot it’s the established doctrine and the New Testament Epistles are helping us better understand the gospel better explaining it Jesus said a lot of cryptic things and later the apostles received the holy ghost and opened those things up for us to understand better

the gospel is the foundation of the New Testament it is the doctrine they all believed and followed and taught in the epistles you won’t find anyone in the New Testament teaching contrary to the gospel they were expounding on it

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭

that’s the doctrine that all Jesus followers subscribed to whole heartedly so the rest of the New Testament is like the prophets after the law they are still preaching the same doctrine they are revealing things from it

Yes. What about it. that's what I asked you. You stated that the gospel is specifically where our doctrine is

the gospel specifically is where our doctrine is
Hence my question what about the rest of the NT?

and

What exactly is the gospel?

Hence my question what about the rest of the NT?

and

What exactly is the gospel?
the gospel is everything the law and prophets said about Jesus coming to pass as God said it would

the whole message of Jesus Christ from his virgin birth

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the prophets witnessed that and the gospel is the good news of that being fulfilled like this

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The messiah the savior of the world is born , that’s one aspect of the gospel.

What the gospel is is what you learn in this book “ the gospel according to Matthew an apostle of Jesus Christ “

“The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭

everything in the gospel of Matthew the message of Jesus Christ born in the flesh and speaking to and walking among men teaching them the truth of life. And everything you find in “the gospel according to mark “ this message

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭

a everything you learn in “ the gospel according to Luke “ this book holding this message

“Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word; it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, that thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:1-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that’s also a record of the gospel

and finally it’s what you learn in “the gospel according to John “

this book and this message about the same Jesus the other guys were telling us about the same Jesus born in Matthew and Luke the same who taught in mark and walked with them in John

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:1-3, 9-10, 12-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The gospel is the record from the eye witnesses of Jesus birth , life , teachings and sayings , judgements , his miracles and wonders , his suffering and his death and his resurrection and his ascention into heaven to sit on the throne forever as king

The entirety of that true message concerning Jesus Christ is the gospel you or anyone else can know it by studying and spending time in the four accounts of the gospel offered in the Bible the gospel according to Matthew , mark Luke and John the one Jesus preached to them and commanded them to preach to everyone else in the world for salvation

pretty simple when I said the gospel I’m talking about the true record we have of Jesus Christ in n earth what he said about salvstion and everything else and what he did for us to purchase us from death and also where he is now and all the New Testament prophecy also in the epistles about his return from heaven

the gospel is what the Bible says e gospel is is my point those four books called the gospel of Matthew mark Luke and John , that’s the doctrine that every apostles believed and followed and taught they are the foundation of the whole New Testament and the rest of the New Testament is what Jesus said in the gospel it is those who believed and received his spirit at pentocost and afterwards teaching the things he taught them to teach to the world for salvation these things

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The four gospels are the doctrine the epistles are teaching us those same principles expounding upon the same doctrine

a you seem to just want to argue but aren’t making any point just asking argumentative questions nd not acknolwedging the answers you receive sort of dismissing what’s there to argue so I’ll let you do that and move on

It's difficult to summarize the gospel because there is so much. But, I like what Paul wrote to the Corinthians:

18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

I don't pretend that this captures the entire scope of the gospel but it's a compelling start.

Also, as @Pilgrimshope pointed out, it's more than a cognitive exercise. Belief is revealed by action: not belief unto trembling like the demons, but belief unto works of righteousness in Christ.

Ok apparently you did not understand me when I said I don't need the copy/paste

The gospel? Sooooo simple

Simply means 'GOOD NEWS'. The good news is the revelation of Jesus Christ to the world through His life and death and resurrection.

The rest of the NT is instruction, correction and given so that we might understand all that the disciples experienced with Jesus. Now we have the Holy Spirit within us as Jesus is no longer physically on this earth. He was also promised as was Jesus so we know our God is faithful to perform His word.

John sums up the gospels like this:

31But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name. John 20

So now we know.

As an aside:
a you seem to just want to argue but aren’t making any point just asking argumentative questions nd not acknolwedging the answers you receive sort of dismissing what’s there to argue so I’ll let you do that and move on
Yes, I suppose that is how you see it since you make it so complicated that a person needs a Bible dictionary, a concordance and several commentaries to research your copy/paste

Thank God He has made it simple

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3

There are two primary doctrines in Christianity.

1 John 3:23-24
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commandments remains in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He remains in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Everything else that folk regard as doctrine is somewhat secondary to the two core doctrines shown above.

These are commandments though, right?

How does a person keep them if they do not have a foundational understanding of doctrine?

None of what you quoted or wrote can save anyone.

Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
