36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. 45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I don't think anything is going to happen on 12/21/12, but it would be amazingly cool if something did.
I became a Christian because of a 2012 documentary. I mean, they listed 7 or 8 sources throughout history that pointed at something big (not necessarily world-ending) in and around the 2012 time area. That can't be a coincidence. I don't know if it was God or demons telling these people to make these predictions, but when I heard what they had to say, I knew something supernatural existed. Something not of this world was coordinating them to cause a hype that would turn peoples' eyes off of God. Didn't work with me, though. Instead of thinking that 2012 could be the end and I should spend the rest of my life partying hard, I decided I wanted to go to Heaven when I died. Thus, a Christian came to be.
I realize that must sound very strange. I think God intentionally made me a strange person. Or, he has a bizarre sense of humor. Either way, I'm better off now than I was 3 years ago when I was an atheist.

Something may happen but I don't know if it will be the complete destruction of earth because the bible says the world has to go through a tribulation for seven years. So maybe the 2012 thing is the start of the Tribulation.

I know God says that no one knows the day or hour, but he never says no one knows the year. Do you think it's possible that we could have pin-pointed the start of the tribulation? Because in revelations, if I remember correctly, there will be great confusion when the tribulation begins (the confusion would be "were the Mayans correct" "What happened to a bunch of people" "is the world really ending soon?", etc), and on top of that the new world religion will add to the confusion and so on. In my opinion it would make sense if the tribulation would start in 2012, but I'm not saying it will.

I can't really say yes or no on if the world "is going to end" on December of 2012, but I can say that nobody knows the time or hour of Jesus' return. Jesus doesn't even know. Only the Father knows. All I can say is I really can't wait to hear those trumpets!!!

I wish that movie was never made -_- they've created so many worried minds.
I don't believe that the Rapture or anything of the like will happen in 2012 - I'm hoping to get a good 30 years out of my life before God makes his move - but if it does, before the all-consuming fire sweeps me up, I will openly admit...

YES and AMEN, it may well be in 2012.......but not because of some ancient Mayan prophecy, that's for sure!!!! PRAISE THE LORD, everything is in His hands and perfect timing. Hallelujah!
