I learned that its ok to be alone. ^-^.
That I need to work harder to make my own foundation in God, cause when you lean on other people the eventually let you down.
And that my dad really is that kind of dad my mom had been complaining about all these years. . . . .so i'm having trust issues. T-T.
(not so good year for me)

What happened in 2012 in your life that you never want to happen again?
I got wrapped up in a friendship with a male that got way too intimate. For a good 2 years I had been on an emotional roller coaster. I ended the friendship in early 2012 for good. Promised myself that I would never put myself through that again.

Did you learn anything huge this year? Not really- lots in school i guess

Did you fall in love? How did it go? Nope.

Personal growths we might all learn from? Discernment of character is crucial when it comes to friendships and possible relationships. I've learned to utilize this tool.

Anything exciting happen? Got a car.

What changes would you like to see in your life in 2013? I would love to find someone. Hopefully get some kind of direction with my future. Everything is pretty hazy, and i'll have some big choices coming up in the future that are not in my total control. I envision a fork in the road in the future when it comes to deciding between a family or going to school for a career. It might be too difficult to do both at the same time.

What steps are you taking in that regard? Put myself out there more in terms of meeting someone. Its all so complicated though.

It would be great to hear God, if He wants me to be a counselor and not a wife or a mother, I need Him to speak to me in no uncertain terms. It has to be blunt. The uncertainty is anxiety provoking. If He wishes me not to have a family, then I would wish He would tell me.

What happened in 2012 in your life that you never want to happen again?
I spent four months slaving away for free at an internship because I thought it was going to lead to a full time job (the company went nowhere, and my bosses were hell to work for) before quitting in September.
I also spent much of the spring and summer trying to fit in with a group of friends who were very different from me.

Did you learn anything huge this year?
My church has been a godsend for many people, but it probably isn't the place for me.

Anything exciting happen?
A good friend of mine moved to the city in late September, just in time for my birthday.

What changes would you like to see in your life in 2013?
Permanent employment; and some friends who I don't have to try to "fit in" with.

What steps are you taking in that regard?

Pounding the pavement, being social and all that.

Simple to know the LORD and hear him Well ! Fast i found three days water only reading the bible and praying ! He promises three things ! We Break EVERY yoke anything that holding us back from the Perfect relationship HE WANTS with each of US ! He will Heal our flesh ! He Will come and Talk with us 1

When we Fast / We walk and live though Our Spirit more ! It our spirit that the Child of GOD , That he never leaves or forsakes 1
Heb_12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Heb_12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

Isa_58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Isa 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am.

I learned the full meaning of God being a jealous God. Taking things and problems in my own hands only to make things worse before realizing I wasn't God.

Also, to be less self-focused. I stated before I want to love others more, and do more for others. My selfish desires are not worth the cost of someone else.

I just read my bible and pray daily, and try to take everything one day at a time.

What happened in 2012 in your life that you never want to happen again?

Today I found out that my cat knows how to open the door. This ''happy'' day has come.

He was too lonely or too happy (being home alone)... so-he decided he wants to 'decorate' our living room...

I hope he will never use that door again-while I'm at work-or just not home.

This year has been whirlwind but I have definitely learned a deeper definition of Gods grace both for myself and for others. I have learned more and more how faithful God is, how He provides, and what it means to worship with abandon.

I learnt that God really meant what He said, He will NEVER leave me and that I can do NOTHING more to make Him love me and there is nothing I can do to make Him love me less. I also learnt, after my 16 year old daughter was threatened with her life that not only do I have to trust God with my life but also with my kids and the last thing Im learning on a pretty deep level is the Kingdom of God is IN US therefore clear out all the rubbish, falsehood, deception, lies and lack of faith and let it shine. As for 2013, my house is up for sale and the world awaits me for the biggest adventure of my life. Now I know how Abraham felt.

Haha Stilly...okay...here goes: :)

What happened in 2012 in your life that you never want to happen again?
I nearly died of pneumonia a couple of months ago because I didn’t have the good sense to slow down and listen to my doctor.

Did you learn anything huge this year?
That my life is about to change in a couple of very big ways, so I need to be ready for it.

Did you fall in love? How did it go?
Yes. It’s looking good so far.

Personal growths we might all learn from?

That sometimes, no matter how hard I try, I can’t make everyone happy. I can’t make peace with everyone. Some folks don’t want that.
AND
That it’s okay for me to be wrong even if it’s not okay with others for me to be wrong.

Anything exciting happen?
Some great road trips J

What changes would you like to see in your life in 2013?
Well, next year is huge for me age-wise, so I would like to have some idea of where my life is headed. I don’t really want to stay where I am, so I expect to move sometime next year. I would also like very much to see my current relationship work out, more than I have ever wanted anything in a very long time.

What steps are you taking in that regard?
I’m scouting, praying and trusting…and proceeding cautiously. Not sure any of us can ever really do more than that.

Did you fall in love? How did it go?
Yes. It’s looking good so far.

Chuck Norris approves this.

Well......if you are reading this, you survived the apocalypse of 2012. :)

So...
What happened in 2012 in your life that you never want to happen again?
As I mentioned in another thread...a speeding ticket for accelerating up a hill RIGHT before the speed limit rose about 10mph.

That and things that have to do with my job June through November. No details. Not here anyway.

Did you learn anything huge this year?

Oh yes. Never take a job just to take a job. I have to believe in what I am doing. That there is some purpose.

This was the job I had before the previously mentioned job.

Did you fall in love? How did it go?

Yes and no. I stayed in love when it wasn't healthy, and tried to ward it off by seeing someone else who I just started to admire when she decided to have my heart for lunch when I needed to think of her most. On balance, I'm still in love with the previously mention girl, and it is still a problem.

That taught me that you cannot approach love or attraction methodically or rationally. The heart wants what the heart wants. I get so frustrated with my heart.

Personal growths we might all learn from?

What I just mentioned in the realm of relationships and something else.

The first job I mentioned (ironically the second in succession), taught me many things. Care about your appearance without being vain. That job killed whatever shred of vanity I had left. The task at hand was more important than my physical imperfections.

Also, you have no idea what you are capable of until you try. I did some pretty amazing things this year.

Anything exciting happen?
This year, many of my wildest dreams came true. I got to work a dream job in a state I had dreamed of living in since age 13. It was a brilliant experience. Not merely an adventure, but a Crusade. Hopefully not my last.

Another lesson I learned the meaning of the old adage "be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it." hahaha.

What changes would you
like to see in your life in 2013??

I'm looking to build a more stable foundation for myself, career wise.

What steps are you taking in that regard?

Switching my focus, temporarily, from work to academia. I've decided that I am more suited to a life composed of thinking and writing, but infused with action somehow.

I've realized one dream, now onto the next: being the Indiana Jones of poli- sci :P

What happened in 2012 in your life that you never want to happen again?
falling in love to a man and forgetting God.

Did you learn anything huge this year?
do not put your trust to humans because we tend to forget our promises but our God is so gracious to forgive me and he never forgets me even i have forsaken Him.

Anything exciting happen?
i was able to help my family more financially.

What changes would you like to see in your life in 2013?
a more stable career, to be involve in the ministry again in the philippines.

What steps are you taking in that regard?
i will make my plans but i need to listen to God's approval...trust His plans and timings...be faithful to Him till the end.

What happened in 2012 in your life that you never want to happen again?

I am blessed to be able to say no...2012 was a good year for me.

Trust, more than anything. Trusting God and people too, HE has taken me a long way. :D

Jullianna said:
Did you fall in love? How did it go?
Close enough to it to count I reckon...

Jullianna said:
Personal growths we might all learn from?

Well, for me I discovered that if you talk to HIM about anything HE will respond...not always a way you might expect it, but HE does respond. :D

Jullianna said:

Lots actually. I got baptized, graduated from college, got a job, bought a car, and hit 40 mph on a snowboard. The last one being the most exciting I think. :p

I want to build more relationships and build deeper relationships with those that I already have.

Jullianna said:

Stepping outside of my comfort box and trying new things with friends.

2010 & 2011 were not so good years. 2012 was a pretty good year for me. I've grown closer to the Lord than I ever have been before. I got involved in volunteering at church and fellowshipping with others. I've done a lot of things this past year that have been out of my comfort zone since I'm normally a shy/quiet type person. I look forward to a great 2013 as I look to continue to grow in my relationship with Christ.

What happened in 2012 in your life that you never want to happen again?

I aged a year!!!

Did you learn anything huge this year?

Yes! Never cancel a date with a woman just because you heard a rumor there was going to be an all-night buffet at the local Dairy Queen!!!

Did you fall in love? How did it go?

My answer above should make an answer here unnecessary!

Personal growths we might all learn from?

I had a growth removed, does that count? (I don't think you all want to learn about it though).

Anything exciting happen?

One day I was chasing what I thought was a rare white-tailed red fox! It turns out it was just a large Christmas stocking that was being pushed along the ground by the wind (it was exciting for a few minutes!!!).

What changes would you like to see in your life in 2014?

I would like to learn how to count.

What steps are you taking in that regard?

I am ordering 10 episodes of Sesame Street (of course that will only teach me to count up to 10, but I have to start somewhere - baby steps!!!).
