2nd Peter chapter 3:3-8

Verse 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lust.

Websters Dictionary

1: an expression of scorn, derision, or contempt. Derision: The use of ridicule or scorn to show contempt, A state of being laughed at or ridiculed.

2. An object of scorn, mockery or derision.

Here is a sentence that describes it: You are wrong there is no gap theory God created the world and it was without form and void. You need to read your bible and get it right.

Verse 4. And saying, where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.

Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it NOT IN VAIN! He formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD and there is none else.

Again Job 38: God speaking to Job out of the whirlwind: Verse 3: Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will DEMAND of thee, and answer thou me. God is telling Job to stand up put on your big boy paints and answer these questions for me. I want to look at the 4th question Verse 7 Remember all these questions start with: Where were you Job: Verse 7: when all the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted together.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth: Here again you have to go back to Job 38-41 and it tells you all about the first earth age; How God created it where we were, what the earth was like.

Verse 5. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

There is a difference between being ignorant and willingly ignorant: Ignorant to be without knowledge about a subject. If you brought me any car any, model, year and asked me to fix the transmission. I could not do it. I am unlearned about that. Ask me about how to run a business I will be able to give you some good information. I have owned by own business and made money at it, and been Director of Sales and Marketing for a mid-sized Corp. Took it from $475.00 a week to 1.6 million a month in just under 5 years. Transmissions yes I am ignorant about them; Sales and marketing I might be able to give you some good information. I am not willingly ignorant about transmissions I just never had the chance to learn about them. These people we are talking about in verse 5 are willingly ignorant, they choose not to read and understand the bible. What are they ignorant about. Let's let Peter tells us about it.

Verse 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water perished.

What are they willingly ignorant of? In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. There was a whole earth age before this on and this is not the flood of Noah's time! And we will prove it in after this last verse.

Verse:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of Judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Jeremiah 4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children (look up the word sottish I do not thank I can use it) and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. Verse 23. And I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form and void and the heavens, they had no light. Verse 24 I beheld the mountains and they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. Verse. 25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of heaven were fled. Verse 26. I beheld, and the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by His fierce anger. Verse 27. For thus hath the Lord said, the whole land shall be desolate; yet I will not make a full end. They want to be ignorant of that fact.

This can not be Noah's flood; Why? There were people on the ark, there were birds on the ark. Genesis 7:15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two by two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. 16. And they went in. went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in. After that first earth age God wiped out everything on the earth. Earth Strong's Concordance # 776 Hebrew erets phonic spelling eh-rets; from an unused root probably meaning to be firm; (the earth at large or partitvely a land):- Common country, earth field, ground land. This would be the first 2 layer of the earth's crust. Just as in Genesis 1:2 The earth became void and without form. We have the first earth age: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. There was a war in heaven (that is a study for a different time you can read about it in Ezekiel 28) and that age came to an end thus Genesis 1:2 The earth was (became) void and without form. Remember Gods word will not go forth and return unto Him without accomplishing that which God intended. God also cannot create anything that is void and without form. That and the fact that the word was should be translated became void and without form. Peter tells us that there was an earth age before this one, everything was perfect. This earth age shell come to an end when Jesus puts His foot on the Mt of Olives splits that mountain in half making a 60 square mile wide valley where the Holy city Jerusalem and the new temple of GOD will be built and the allotment for the Priests and Levites will be given. This will be the 1,000-year Day of the Lord or better called the millennium. We get a change here in verse 8 Verse 8 But, Beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day, thou eastest thereof thou shalt surly die. Adam and Eve both ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Why did they not die? Because of the fact that Peter has just explained. 1Day with God is as a thousand years with man. Genesis 5:3 Adam lived 130 years begat a son and named him Seth: verse 4 And Adam lived 800 years after Seth and had other sons and daughters. Adam lived a total of 930 years. 70 years shy of 1,000 years of 1 day with the Lord. The oldest man to live was Methuselah and he lived 969 years and died. Again 31 years short of a day with the Lord

And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died. So, we look at a day as 24 hours that is the blink of an eye for God because his day is a thousand years. Why do we not live that long any more? The more sin in the world the worse things get and the shorter our life span gets.
