I have 3 questions for each to answer...if you don't mind and I do have my reasons for asking:
1. What church denomination to you fellowship with? This is not what you consider yourself to be.
2. If you could change your church what denomination would you choose to fellowship with and why?
3. Are there certain aspects of your church you don't like or are uncomfortable with?

Your answers will help me a lot so thank you.
 
I think that denominations were done away with when Jesus came to us.....
Now we are all one church....His church...the body of Christ....no need for all that religious stuff.....
It was done away with.....

As always this is my opinion.....what ever brings them to God is good .....
as long as they preach the truth.....I don't conform to a certain church... I visit many....
they are all nondenominational........where I live there are churches everywhere.....some are
in clusters.....six different churches on the same block.....we have to be careful of
what we allow others to teach us......where ever you go....it must bring you peace and understanding....never confusion or uncomfort.......peace....jo

Yes, this isn't about a denomination but where we fellowship and our relationship with that particular church and of course the denomination of the church may influence our feeling of that church.

  1. the congregation we're with now is non-denominational but *loosely* associated with the national Baptist council
  2. actually relocated a few years ago and had to find a church - i visited a lot of different ones looking for the Spirit to say "here" :) i'm predisposed against 'orthodox' denominations, b/c i look down on ritual, more or less - so i didn't actually visit any Catholic church, though i did go to an Episcopal one, and found it every bit as dry & lifeless as i expected it to be. i guess my druthers would be non-denominational, in my heart i believe denominations and divisions are wrong; that it's about Christ not about 'sectarianism' - and i actually landed more or less in such a place, but not because it was what i was specifically looking for. makes sense i hope..?? i had a bad reaction to the 'mega-churches' here too, but in a different way.
  3. i'd like for my congregation to sing the older hymns more. we do sometimes, but mostly newer worship songs, and i don't listen to CCM or Christian radio, so i'm only familiar with these songs from our Sunday meetings. i don't mind, and my family responds to it - but i grew up with a hymnal and know half of it by heart, and miss singing the doxology and the old rugged cross and just as i am and all :) hmmm guess i ought to get myself into the worship band and see about that huh?

I agree with you both that non-denominational churches are the way to go, unfortunately we don't have any in the city where I live so it isn't an option.
 
no.1- I go to a non-denominational church, I pretty much dislike denominations.
no.2- I really enjoy my church, but I would have to say Presbyterian
no.3 more old - time hymns
 
Some of the best churches I've been to were in someone's living room.....a lot in my early learning was insuch churches....who later grew.....thank God for providing you with such a place.....you will find on my friend....Besides you got us.....and we have church here.....when two or more.....its church.....who knows maybe you are suppose to start one...

I would LOVE to start a non-denominational church here - it's badly needed but I wouldn't know where to start LOL and yes I feel quite at home on this forum, there are some wonderful brothers and sisters of God here.
 
Well...invite a couple of people to your house....surely you have a couple people you know...better yet...pray for a couple of friends who He will send....invite them for tea and snacks.....thank God for bringing you together and tell Him your plan....and see where God takes it.....that's how we did it....we even prayed for a leader....it came togetherfast.....what you got to loose....an enjoyable night talking about God.....sweet....
